I recently purchase a watch (above $400, has to pay SG GST)from a seller in the US
Based on USPS tracking online the parcel is scheduled to be delivered on 8th Sept.
Until now the parcel has not reach me and when I call Singpost and ICA parcel service, they are not able to find the tracking number in their system.
Whats the next step in locating this parcel? Anyone with similar experience to share/advice?
Thank you.

Hope you bought insurance on it.

Thanks Ufai!

I don't know how USPS tracking is on international shipments but I will tell you this based upon my pretty extensive experience with USPS tracking and package deliveries - just because they say 2 day priority or whatever doesn't mean squat often times items do not arrive timely. Hopefully your watch shows up here soon.

BTW I have a friend in the aquarium club who is a Betta freak...he is always going around giving talks about them etc. Very extensive knowledge of and years and years of raising them. I have always been a SA wild fish enthusiast myself.

I believe you can logon to USPS to track the parcel, no? Or ask the seller. It takes about 5-10 working days from US to Sg by air.

Which USPS shipping option was used specifically? My guess is that probably one of the more economical options was used?

AFAIK, the cheaper service levels like Priority Mail International don't have a guaranteed date, but provide an estimate (6-10 business days), which can be susceptible to delays. It also won't have up to date or detailed tracking information. What's the latest tracking status update anyway?

I'd suggest letting your seller know about the delay, and let them know you'll look out for it this coming week.

With USPS, the next step, if you really suspect loss, is to get the seller to file a claim.

Submit an International Inquiry Online
Because international claims require coordination with a foreign postal administration, they’re handled differently than domestic claims. The process for filing an international claim begins with an inquiry that only the U.S. sender can initiate.

To get started, you’ll need the 13-digit tracking number that begins with EA-EZ, CA-CZ, or RA-RZ and ends in US.

Hi:
The shipping option used is Priority Mail Express International
Below is the last update, scheduled delivery date shown online is 8th Sept.
"Your item departed a transfer airport in Changi, Singapore, SINGAPORE on September 4, 2015 at 10:54 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination."
Singpost and Custom has No record of the tracking number allocated to this parcel (I called them this morning)

usps will pass the parcel to singport/vpost correct? they are they worst. next time using DHL and fedex....i only trust these 2 if buying expensive stuff. other courier is hit or miss.

By googling for the phrase used in the last update "Your item departed a transfer airport in Changi", I found some info on another forum thread that sounds similar to your situation:

If your situation is any similar, your parcel might arrive approx 16th Sept? Using the threadstarter's gauge of + approx 12 days.

HiKan:
Thanks alot for the awesome information! guess I am not the 1st to get into this uneasy situation.
A case has been filed with USPS last night by the seller.
Hopefully my parcel turns up soon..

My past experiences have caused me to avoid any kind of shipping service that has Stinkpost involved.

I haven't had any parcel but one lost through the years, so don't worry. Most of the times it's just late. The one that was lost was by DHL Global or something like that. No tracking once it hits the U.S. export point. This includes all sorts of odd postal services like Ukraine Post. Most if the times if you pay via credit card or PayPal it will usually work out in buyer's favor, moreover your item is tracked properly. Don't worry too much about it and good luck!

Thanks guys for the input.
This uneasy feeling really sucks

One of our friends had his registered parcel lost. The last status was parcel was signed for, but he never got it. He asked for the signed reciept and it was some funny signature that was not his. Singpost said it was signed for, they could not do anything. So my friend had to say goodbye to his Gitzo.

I waited for a parcel from indonesia for 3 weeks, never came, because after 3 weeks, I had to fly again. and while I was on the trip, Singpost returned the parcel to indonesia. I finally got my monopod on my next trip to indonesia a year later.

Yeah, always a risk of someone signing and taking yr item. The courier guy may went to wrong address or some error.

Once I had monitored the tracing status, and it showed singpost has delivered the package and someone has signed for it. I called to demand explaination how that could be when I was at home and no postman knocked at the door. The customer officer promised to look at it. The next day the status shower delivery in process and I got the parcel delivered.

Maybe the postman were late in delivery and kept the parcel for himself and signed it. My call triggered some questions by his supervisor and he decided to come clean.

Sound familiar?

I ever encounter that item marked delivered, but I got nothing. I think about it, maybe parcel too small, they put inside mailbox?! I went down and open the mailbox, it's there! If not I sure call up and ask about it.

"Your item departed a transfer airport in Changi" means your items is being transferred to local postage company, likely SingPost.

Anyway, when you see this status, it's low chance for it to get lost. It be take longer than you expect, but it's seldom lost.
I ship items every month and over the years only remember one case of lost-in-transit item.

I had one experience last time buying from ebay through ebay shipping that my item arrives box only and the item was missing. Since i paid via PayPal and seller used ebay shipping i manage to raise a case and got a full refund including shipping.

Now i have this problem with SpeedPost it was marked as failed delivery due to incorrect address when called SpeedPost CS they said its missing the unit number the funny part normally when buying from ebay and paying via paypal it will have your HP number no one called me. Even after i have spoken to SpeedPost CS and gather all my particulars no one called me back. Called them again today same thing the CS personnel took my contact details again. Sigh SpeedPost Cs is a failure
