Any old birds advise where to get lens caps?

Hey guys,

I have a A55 kit lens 3.5-5.6/ 18-55mm SAM. The lens cap states ø55, so this means if I'm buying a new lens cap, I need to find one with 55mm diameter right?

I recall going to Sony quite a couple of months back to get a lens cap, but was shocked when I saw the price...

Can any old birds advise where I can get lens caps which are more reasonably priced?

Go Peninsula Shopping Centre and find Black Market Camera store. They have a wide range of lens cap for you to choose from and price is pretty budget, no more than $5.

I second this. If you're in no hurry, i.e. can wait 2-3 weeks, you can get them off eBay. Otherwise $5 is not that much to pay for a third party lens cap too. Gotta pay a small premium to save time and help cover their own costs too.

Thats subjective. If you cant find anything cheaper then even if its $20, you may have to pay it right? Depends on how desperate you are.

Anyway this is a small item so if you need it just get it

You pay $1 for the lens cap, the rest covers, store rental, store renovation, air con, utility, maintenance and repair, staffs salaries and CPF........ so on and so forth.

If you feel paying 4 bucks more than ebay is worth getting it on that day itself, don't have to wait and delivered to your house, then i'm sure there would be people who feel it is worth. Whether you feel is overpriced, its a matter of the worth you attach to it.

No problem at all. Perhaps the point is that you can exercise your own judgement on whether it is so overpriced that you cant buy the lens cap from a particular shop when balanced with your needs. :thumbsup:

Even buying in china it is around 20 rmb. That comes to slightly over 4 sgd.
