Whether it is gun or knife. Very stiff panelty should be imposed on such attackers. We want to come across as a nation that does not tororate such violence. Never mind about human right. Who think it is ok, we can that person to slash him and let him tell us what he feel now. ��
Security guard is most likely an unarmed 'uncle'... beside calling the police, what more do you expect him to do ?? Kung Fu fight a much younger man holding a parang ??
Personally... I'm waiting for more information on this story... is it a Gang thingy ?? Or some other stupidness of youth issue ??
PS... notice the large amount of student who still sit around and not moving away from the area even after witnessing the attack... THAT, I feel really something wrong...

If we had to fall back on human rights to be protected from attacks, we have bigger issues than folks carrying knives or guns to schools.

Sure, he just needed to pretend he is Chuck Norris. Everybody would just be a helpless bundle rolling on the floor laughing. Easy to grab the attacker.
If you are well trained in any form of unarmed combat like Karate, Aikido, Wing Chun, Judo... etc, you won't even need a heavy Maglite... BUT, most security guards in SG are unlikely to be trained of such skills... even in Baton fighting... I doubt having a maglite or even a real baton would be helpful in this situation.... :think:

Krav Maga, all security guards should have to be trained in some form of unarmed combat. And seriously, pay them a decent wage!

In SG, where rarely any such attacks happen... and most security guards are overweight uncle with health problem (I know, cause a few Ex Colleagues work as security guards)... how to train for unharmed combat ?? If security is really needed... they should hired certis cisco guard which are armed instead of 'Uncle' Security....

Back in the old days, this type of things does happened and maybe not reported, you know, i know can liao. But once again, back in the old days, no mobile phone, don't mention about smart phone with video recording. So, last time already got, nowadays just that people got video to show, all says WOW! haha!
Like I mentioned before... if you are 'shocked' or 'surprised' by this recent attack... then SG is still very safe... its when you are no longer shocked or surprised... then we have a problem.... :bsmilie:
Our campuses can indeed become violent, amongst other evil things perhaps even more evil than violence, but it is not true 100% or even probably 25%! When you have 300 million people and the system we do you are going to have scales of such nefarious things. That being said you all don't have anything on us..:embrass:
