I started off my journey into photography capturing moments that I chanced upon in the streets. Somewhere down the road, I realised that I am particularly drawn to photographing people. Over the past year, I have had the good fortune of photographing people who this time, unlike street photography, have allowed me to take posed photos of them. I am finally starting this thread to share the portraits that I have captured over time.

I must say that I have often looked to the various experienced photographers who often post here for inspiration and oftentimes I try to recreate my version of these photos. I certainly hope that I can get constructive feedback from anyone who happens to drop by this thread and help me along this absolutely fantastic journey in photography.

Thank you so much Sion for the kind words of encouragement. I must say that your studio portraits and the lighting control that you possess are something that I often try to emulate! The way you illuminate the subject without creating and blown highlights and yet create nice shadows are awesome. Looking to learn more from your photos!

Great shots bro.

Just some notes:
#1, some of the whites are blown.
#2, clipped the elbow
#3, too much clarity, making the baby skin very rough and textured looking.

Thanks I'm still learning.

I play it safe by underexposure my shots a bit and lift them up in raw conversion.

Keep an eye on your histogram.

Noted! Yeah, Underexposing saves my skin (and the model's skintone) quite often. But I can't get enough of the blown highlights that I think only I seem to like. Haha..
