I need help, I'm looking for a mirrorless camera and I'm torn between the X-A1, E-PL7 and a5100

Which one would your recommend?

Fujifilm X-A1

Sony a5100

Olympus PEN E-PL7

IMO, touch screen (with 180 degrees) of the a5100 and E-PL7 looks nice.
External flash option of the E-PL7 and X-A1 is also nice since I can upgrade the flash if needed.
Option to control the camera using a smartphone is a big plus for the a5100 and E-PL7

For possessing the best haptics and widest shooting envelope in terms of versatility, I'll choose the E-PL7. The Micro 4/3 Olympus bodies starting from the E-PL5 onwards have shutter buttons that are a joy to operate; the tactile feel just makes you want to bring it around and shoot with it. Furthermore, autofocus is really fast, and the camera feels really responsive compared to the other two options. Lens-wise, other than possessing the greatest spread of options among the mirrorless options, the price of the micro 4/3 lenses are actually relatively low nowadays, and very good optically-speaking.

If you're concerned about image quality and the greater dof owing to the smaller sensor, I'd say don't worry. The difference is relatively minor until you go 35mm "full-frame". In good light all three options will give good enough images :)

^Thanks... I'm removing the X-A1 from my list as I saw negative reviews regarding its video capabilities and low light focusing...

I saw promotions for the Olympus OM-D E-M10 at Best Denki... Is it better than the E-PL7 and a5100?

E-M10 has really good image stabilisation. Why don't you head down and try the two of them out? Image quality between the two of them are the same. As for the A5100, I can't really guide you on that ;)

I'll just say EPL7 and while you'r considering , consider the EM10 if a EvF is important for u.

Just an update.

I have decided to get the Olympus OM-D E-M10.

I based my decision on my experience with my Samsung NX300.

Option for an external flash (not available if I chose the a5100) is a big plus since I can always upgrade it later when the need arises.

View finder is another helpful feature when taking photos outdoors.

Thanks for all the replies :)
