Would anyone know if Canon G7X is available under the Privilege Purchase Programme? I called but was told to make a trip down for the technical personnel to assess my faulty camera. Hoping to avoid making the long trip if possible. Thanks.

I'm quite sure you can buy your G7X under PPP since my G1X Mk II was bought under PPP too. Normally, Canon wouldn't want to discuss PPP over the phone. Bring any old Canon film or digital camera down. It doesn't matter if it was functioning or not. I traded in an old film camera. Expect about 15% off the SRP. You might not get it straightaway; they'll order and you collect when available, unless they already have one at the service centre.

The G7x will only be available under PPP sometime in Jan '15. I made the trip to the service centre in mid Oct and was told about this.

Anyway, you can call up the hotline and insist to check on the availability of specific cameras. They wont be able to tell you instantly but will call you back.

Thanks. There are quite a few more photos Inserted in the G1X-II Review thread if you like to browse them. Most of them were linked from my Flickr site. I like the camera very much & using it much more than my DSLR when roaming around SG.

You will enjoy using the G7X. You might want to post some photos into the G7X/G1X-II photo sharing thread for CS'ers to enjoy after getting it.

Yes, only for 70D and below. No idea how far below.

70D body: SRP: SGD1499. This program: SGD1233 after GST before SGD 150 rebate.

One quote for the body I got one month back from the regular shops was about SGD1300 after GST before SGD 150 rebate.
