Just had lunch with some colleagues just now. Finding that my coffee was still a little bitter for me, I went to the counter to ask for another pack of creamer. The replied I received was “ bought anything? … Um must upsize for more creamer …”, which I was then a little surprise. My colleague then later went to ask for more serviette which he later received 2 sheets after careful calculation (well at least he is more successful than myself in this case). I must admit that I have not enter a Mcdonalds’ restaurant for a long time, so I wonder if this is the “pattern” these days or this is simply an exception case. Anyone here has these experiences? The funny thing is, certain items like the chilli sauce, salt and pepper etc. are of no constraints and could help yourself on how much you need … so I find it a little strange and rather “imbalanced”. :bsmilie:

The McDonald's you went to for lunch is located in Pyongyang? Must create a thread for this significant event?

no leh, those stuff are at one corner, you can take all u want.

Thanks for the response. I also tot this should be case. Perhaps under each franchise arrangement there is certain leeway to be run differently ...? But even creamer and serviette more ex than the rest of the stuff? so i find it a little strange ...

McD in SG isn't franchised. One possibility, perhaps figures on operating expenses across all branches are compared regularly, and this particular branch has an unusually high consumption of creamer and serviettes (vs revenue or # of customers served), and they are required by HQ to address it *shrug*

McDonald’s Singapore is wholly owned by McDonald's Corporation in Oak Brook, USA – and is not available for local franchising.

Haven't really experienced it myself. Thought serviettes in all outlets are in self-service dispensers these days.

Thanks for the details and the sharing … if it is “centralized” then trying to manage operating expense (as you mentioned) could be the reason for the different practice for this location ... but if this is so, would it be confusing for the customers (e.g.inconsistency) and create a kind of pathetic feeling for the restaurant :bsmilie: . Also, advocating to upsize to justify for more creamer would certainly not be right in this case … do you not agree? ;)

Macdonalds still serves creamer? Which outlet is this?

Aren't serviettes normally placed together with the chilli and ketchup and free-flow? This is out of the norm so perhaps there is a specific reason for it, e.g. you have high frequency of cases where people just walk off with the entire stack to use at home. It's not impossible...

As for creamer, if you think that the response is unsatisfactory you can always ask to talk to the branch manager. One more creamer shouldn't require any upgrade in my honest opinion.

Never had an issue with politeness or getting items in Macs.
Ever in 40 years...

mcd in JEM the serviette is not placed with chili/salt. instead mcd staff will give you 2-3 pieces per-tray. i think this started a month or two ago - it was free flow previously.

but mcd in Jcube the serviette is in the regular place and free flow.
:dunno:

Sure that one was McDonald? or perhaps Mat Donal? :p

Sauce is one per item but you can still try. Sugar, creamer, serviette, chilli and ketchup if you need more just ask for more if they don't give then ask for manager if he don't give tell him then you can't drink or eat the food and ask for refund. I eat a lot of sugar and ketchup and I can't have my food or coffee without the correct amount of it, I will even tell them I will pay for the extras.

Cream won't help the bitterness in your tongue. The bitterness is caused by the heatiness in your body.

The fire in your body is normally fanned by watching AV, porn in the net etc.

I suggest to maintain a cooling period from such heaty activities. :bsmilie:

And the bitterness in McCoffee will go away.
