A successful lift-off for the classified CLIO (currently designated USA-257 once in GeoSynchronous Orbit (GSO)) mission payload package right at the closing end of its 02 hours and 26 minutes launch window period at 08:10:00 +8 (Singapore Standard Time (SST)) as the countdown clock was held at just T - 4 minutes on numerous occasions away from its original launch schedule of 05:44:00 +8 (Singapore Standard Time (SST)) due to multiple launch weather violations.

This 49th overall launch of the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V Expendable Launch Vehicle (ELV (Serial Number (SN): AV-049)) and the 25th launch in a 401 configuration for an unidentified United States (US) government agency has been the most secretive so far in five years, surpassing even the level of discretion commonly associated with National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) intelligence and reconnaissance satellite projects.
