Hi all
Would like to hear from all the M4/3 users what draw you to this system?
Besides Fastest AF, Widest selections of lens?
A OMD EM1 is probably the same price as a XT1 or even a A7, so money is definitely not a factor...
Thanks !
(maybe I will become a new convert, haha)

Great video drew me to the GH3.

light weight, Good features and Quality bring me to OMD E1. Waiting the actual release of the silver version then decide the black or silver version.

The lenses are relatively affordable compared to the bigger sized systems.

actually this has been shared numerous times ;)

Remember the time when EM5 appeared and 'cleaned' up so many competitors?

that said, end of the day as users we know our needs, and based on these needs, the MFT system is more than sufficient to meet the demands of most users whether is it price-point, performance, weight, footprint or even lens selection wise.

don't believe me? Try it and you will know. Don't try if you aren't ready with the budget to buy yet lol.

First reason, I I refuse to believe that dSLR = good picture.

Second, I didn't want to lug a heavy dSLR camera and heavy lenses, even though it is arguable that there are small & light dSLRs around.

Third, I wanted a small(er) system that is capable enough. Are there limitations I wish were gone? Sure, but I live and work around them. Frankly, to the common eye, it is hard to pick apart shots from mFT, APS-C or dSLR now.

I guess these are my reasons.

Great selection of lenses and ultimately the weight and size is what drew me.

was a DSLR shooter and found myself leaving it home most of the time cos it was just too darn cumbersome....now with my previous EM-5 and now EM-1, I shoot a lot more

compactness, ability to switch lenses.

Question to all, does m43 lenses really cost lesser than their elder brothers and sisters?

I will rephrase that and say that the choices of lenses in the system are now more than enough to cater to any budget, allowing anyone to start in a proper way.

A simple budget can already give you a 14-42IIR and a 40-150/4-5.6 and a 45/1.8, more than sufficient for casual needs. Buying a camera body in general nets u a 14-42 and a 40-150 straight.

Medium budget you have the 17/1.8,12-50/3.5-6.3, 14-42EZ, 20/1.7 II, 12-32 & the list goes on.

Willing to pay for the best you've the 15/1.7, 75/1.8, 42.5/1.2, 12-40/2.8Pro , 40-150/2.8Pro and upcoming 7-14/2.8Pro

good enough for my daily needs, oly jpg colors, IBIS, SSWF, and a lovely community :)

I love traveling and taking photos of whatever I find interesting. Before, I only use a small point and shoot camera (Canon S90). Then I decided to upgrade to a better camera and since I'm used to taking photos with a small camera, the Olympus omd em10 are the best choice I found that time. Besides, I never like the idea of carrying bulky slr's during my trips. But I kinda wish I bought the Sony a7 instead.

Partially hardcore supporter for Olympus system when 1st use in 1985, 1st own camera OM2SP w 50/1.4 due to lightweight & compactness fr 2nd hand shop beside Cathay shop in Peninsula. Earlier time was borrowed fr frens in SPPS & on Nikon FA, FM & once F2 to try out, with 70-210mm zoom lens really heavy weight in those days and with super zoom lens like carrying bazooka w tripod in their outing. Nikon manual focusing was opposite direction of Olympus system. Minolta system w old days lens were among the best to use unlike later using plastic body lens.
Then went for fishing hobby after NS, then came wedding in 2013 when asked to use Cannon EOS650 on that night, auto fast focus & shiok but still bit heavy. Then came across the article on the MFT system earlier this year and later saw the review on EM-10.
The real POSION was on Aug/Sep 2014 I.T show Court offer for EM-10 kits lens & free 45mm lens which was better than past few I.T shows. Decided to take up Olympus system again after a decade disconnection.
Now the digital photography and EM-10 too complicated to use than Note 3 phone for me. Maybe to have foldable LED LCD display at 6inch for camera or android SW on camera OS.

For me it's age that catch me up.... the M4/3 system is so much lighter to handle when travelling, consider the focal length this system offered. Although I must agree , it's cheaper to buy long reach lens on M4/3 system rather than their's high quality wide angle, which is costing more. also the flexibility on the accessories shared between the Olympus and Panasonic bodies are truly amazing. I came from the old school of photography, having the flash away from my camera is mandatory to me. I bought an extension cable and it did the magic, My Metz 50 flash just work perfect should it be mounted for either Panasonic or Olympus bodies. I'd let the camera speaks for itself on the photo quality which is more than adequate for me.

Don't print picture so m43 is good enough. Even though I can print if I want to. Cheap primes. Compact light weight. Good design and functions

Equipment used : EM1, 42.5/1.2.

The setup cost and lens selection , draw me to M43. Shooting using prime lens was far away dream in DSLR now i can in M43

In M43 u can land ur hands on Leica , Vioglander and more as long ur Pocket allows. Resale of M43 items is also great for buget owner

Wow.. I haven't tried so large prints. Can you see the noise? Because m43 tends to be more noisy..
