read this interesting blog post online... bottom line is that it probably matters if you are buying a camera from someone who is likely to machine-gun their camera, and not when it is the average user.

and by the way... it is shutter, not shuttle....

Actually high shutter count for a machine gunner (eg. birder) is not as significant as high shutter count on a landscape photographer.
