Choosing DSLR, mirrorless, mounts type base on brands and engineering comparison

Very much one guys "theories" and biases (as many as there are on the internet)

Electronic aperture and lens motors can fail too over the years with screw driven lenses from the camera body at least the body gets changed out every couple of years.
So rather than hail electronic aperture and in-lens motors as 'way forward', they are just a trade off (noise vs chance of breakdown)

The Sony E mount flange distance may be short, but its not the reason why it works un-favourably with some M-mount lenses.
Once the adapter is used, that flange distance is the same as a RF camera it was intended for.
This is more to do with the thick sensor stack and possibly lack of micro lenses on the sensor to cater for the edges.

Nikon and Pentax has provided a smart system for backward compatibility to their lenses, and they work fine.
Thanks a thumbs up to them instead of abandoning their users for a new mount.
Don't see the 'hard to manufacture' part that the writer claims too.

Finally, complaining about the Pentax lenses and the limited series of lenses, basically shows that the guy has tried and know very little.

Frankly, I doubt that many pro togs bother so much about flange distance and all that... They just simply choose what's best for their style of use...

So.... Why get so technical when your eye for a good picture is more important at the end of the day?

I have problems finding his intenton or main points. It seems he's rather rambling and ranting about each mount, throwing in bits and pieces that cross his mind. Sounds like Ken Rockwell's brother (since he even quotes him).

He mentions that he will have updates coming later and he already mentioned he uses Olie.. :D
(though he does say he uses almost all brands below... but I don't believe it from his sweeping statements )

Hmm, some food for thought but too many biased sweeping statements probably made more for effect or that he doesn't really know what he was saying at times. I've Pentax user friends who stay stuck to Pentax for years , and there definitely must be reasons why so.

Pentax users love rolling around the beach in the sand shooting sexy bikini models with no fears of the waves !
(Actually one of the nicest thing for the Pentax K mount is that its exact same flange distance as M42 mount lens, so its a simple slide in adapter, and you open up a whole range of great legacy glass! So Pentax cameras actually have one of the largest range of lens !)

This article has a great base for a future article on "why you can use X brand lens on your Y brand body", thats bout it. Choosing a camera on such technical merits will be quite silly. (Unless you plan to take one apart to modify/adapt)
