Tit for tat SIN-JB entry fee

awaiting johor businesses to make noise

Which side will suffer more ? We have more to gain as we keep the money here spending in SIN. They will loss a lot of tourist money.

This, together with the GST, will kill the northern runs for most people. In the end who suffers? Malaysian small businesses and Singaporean common folk.

Ch 8 News reported that the amount of levy to be charged by the Malaysia side is reported RM100 per vehicle per entry.

CNA says 20RM... Dunno which is more accurate.

"Johor Chief Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin had said the Johor government suggested a VEP charge of RM20 (S$7.80), with RM5 going to the state government for road maintenance, for Singapore vehicles entering Malaysia through the Causeway and the Second Link."

Let's see. RM20 is acceptable to me. RM100 is not.

This a just a classic example why you cannot invest in JB properties. They change laws like our weather. Haha. Suddenly Sunday is a working day,, next $100 levy then what? Buy property can only sell to bumi?

Yes, don't be surprised if they say that we can only sell properties to bumi only.

Because it's already a rule for Australia properties. Anyone can correct me if I get it wrong

Anyway, selling back to citizens is not new in other countries. MY can always adopt this law anytime

I can see more Singapore cars using Malaysia plates. :)

Singaporean and PR cannot drive Malaysian car in Singapore, if that is something you are thinking. Cheapest way is to park over in JB and take a bus to and fro to Sg.

well, it could be a blessing in disguise for those who bought properties and staying in bungalow there.
Granted that they would to hv extra expenses, BUT it would also means that there would be less congestion at the checkpt.
All good things come with a price. I don't mind paying that price for a smoother travel in and out. LOL
