Senility already set in .......
Or dementia?
Have all of you ever wondered those who concurred of having 6.9, 8 or 10 million people in Singapore are either passed 60 years or so called expert who never stay one place for long like this chap here?

Can you trust these fellows to be around when we reach those marks?
When they used London, Tokyo, New York or even Bombay or Beijing and any bustling cities for comparison, they always conveniently forgotten not the space not restricted to those areas. Their citizens can choose to move out of the those cities to relax, stay or even work in other parts of their countries.
Where can we move? Sentosa? Forget it! It is reserved for the elitist. Pulau Ubin? Kusu Island? Sisters Island? or St John Island?
*** said our population is down, yet new virgin grounds in Pasir Ris or North Yishun with trees chopped down to build new schools? (hey! Minister of Education, what about the old school buildings) and what else? Flats! Condo!
*** projected too many old folks in the future. Not only allow the FT to become PRs and bring their children over. Sometimes let them bring their parents over! As someone said bring the whole village over.
Bottom line, what is the real problem of low population? Lower GDP hence lower paychecks to government? Shouldn't they think a better longer sustainable solution instead of artificially inflate the headcounts in Singapore for a quick solution?
As ArchRival pointed out we are now suffering the fallout now.
I am not a Mathematician like our Dear Leader nor an Economist, I don't want to dwell on the number sum of overpopulation. I am more concern on the social aspect.
If you have friends, colleagues or relatives who are in the Singapore Civil Defence Force esp those in Shelter Company or Brigade, please ask them, what is the minimum amount of space per person in a shelter in order to stay comfortable, say 24 hours.
Given that square metre per person, multiply by, say, 5 million. Is our current land surface area enough to cover?
Supporters of 6.9M will boo and say, "Come on! how don't be absurd! how can is it possible all 5M take shelter or at the same place at the same time!"
For those who still can't visualise overpopulation, take a look of the Little India Riot aftermath.
What did the COI recommend and the government concur?
To prevent congestion and prevent its potential problems arising, all workers are enforced. Opps! wrong choice of word. All foreign workers are encouraged to stay in their dormitories after work.
We will bring entertainments, minimart and whatnots to your dormitories for your convenience. Just remember to stay in your dormitories after work. Don't wander around and rest well to work tomorrow. Thank You!
If they can do this to the FW, what stop them to doing something equivalent to us when comes a day we are overpopulated?
Is this the kind of life you like in Singapore?
You decide!
