About to buy tickets for some sport event in the stadium, but noticed that it says no tripod or monopod is allowed, lens beyond 120mm not allowed, even DSLR is not allowed...

Are these items really prohibited at entrance? Any friend got experience to share? If I use DSLR in the event will I be cleared out? ;)

Any friend has similar experience before? ever got chance to bring DSLR inside? Are these items really prohibited at entrance? If I use my DSLR during the event, am I going to be cleared out?:bsmilie:

Seems the rules have gotten so much more specific :(

If it's sports event & they even go all the way to restrict lens beyond 120mm I don't see much of a point bringing. They will do checks before and during the event and of course kajiao u quite a bit. I would rather just enjoy the event.

Thank for sharing this info, all photographers should know this rule. As this is an international rule for event shooting.

What happen when NDP held in Sports Hub, will the rule be relax. As many people want to bring their camera to capture the event.

I believe compact camera is allowed into the stadium, how about bridge camera. Does it fall under DSLR or compact camera.

Actually i went to shoot during youth olympics two years ago, no restriction at all, i brought my dslr and a lens upto 200mm, even saw many ppl using tripod. Don't understand why the rule for indoor stadium changes...

Seems can only bring mirrorless with 120mm, which is the best we could bring....

Pentax Q with a 5.6x crop factor with any lenses with a labeling of <120mm printed on it should do the trick ;)

no outside food and drinks allowed….

and food and drinks inside is expensive….

bring back the old stadium!!
