was looking at some SI photos...came across this..wonder how heavy is that fish. LOL

Look real.....even the shadow and lighting seems correct.

Btw... that is not a big Sailfish... so, maybe not as heavy as could be...

Sports Illustrated would not risk publishing their magazine cover with a photoshopped image; when it is rich enough to afford a (dead) marlin-sailfish, glamorous model and photo-shoot in exotic location. Definitely not Sentosa beach.
If the marlin-sailfish fish was alive and full strength, the model is in danger. A powerful thrashing move can injure her neck.

I reckon the fish could be easily more than 35kg? Poor girl. Not to mention the risk of being cut by the sharp pointed mouth. Not easy to hold. Must be quite slippery. I would rather she holds mine. LOL

Most likely lifted onto her shoulder.... not that hard as long as she stay rigid...

Never handle such big fish before. You are a diver, i presume you are the expert in such. Biggest fish i ever handled was my arowana. Damned slippery. LOL. Much worst than handling mine.

Divers don't handle fish... we try even not to touch any rock, corals and sponges...

The fish is dead... the slim that protect the fishes body is most likely long gone...

I have a friend who caught one of these and this game fish fights to it's last breath if you ever get a hook and line on it. Not something that is easy to carry by 4 of us I recall once it was brought on board the boat. dead weigth and a flexible body makes it hard to carry. You got to admire this lady but am certain people had to have lift it up and place over her shoulder properly balanced while she keep her spine straight and regid. Her feet are already digging into the sand . Anyhoo... found many sites talking about this photos.

May be it is just a props made of light weight material :bsmilie:

I don't think the model can carry such a heavy weight unless she is a former he :bsmilie:
