who you add in Facebook?

Previously, I added my colleagues. Slowly, I deleted or blocked some after finding out their weird behavior and also, some of them been high post, might tell my boss on what I said.

I dont mind adding strangers from worldwide as long we playing the same games, sharing same interest like photography etc.

So, who you add? Restricted or open up?

I'm more wary of colleagues though, they add u , u don't add , u also paiseh , add Liao also worried u rant about work they stab u in the back.

Ended up I added and make sure I don't rant about work , since it all social media and the silliest thing to assume is that making a customized 'can see' list works as anyone can just take a screen shot and pass it around.

If u are a careful person, rule #1 is never add colleagues or bosses into fb.

I have seen cases in my own office where colleagues or bosses reported on the fb user about what is written in the postings about the job or some classified info revealed or what you did during an official overseas trip.

Some kena served HR warning letters.

Imagine what your boss think of you when you simply type "what a f...king tiring day in office. Damm customers. To hell with the job". ?

Some posting may look innocent and harmless gossiping, but to your colleagues and bosses, they are otherwise.

Fb is meant to be a personal platform, and its a huge mistake to assume that colleagues and bosses are personal friends. (They are never be)

If u wan to add colleagues and bosses, create another fb account solely for this purpose.

That's what I have. Two fb accounts, one for personal and family and the other one is only for colleagues and bosses.

Agreed bro. I think the best is just to exercise some caution when posting on social media.

You must know the art of ranting on the internet.

For public ranting

Rule 1) Never use your real name
Create an account using your cat/dog name

Rule 2) Never use the other party real name
Use Mr X and Mr Y to address the other party and use X company instead of your company's name.

Many people in SG, have been force to fled into self-impose exile after posting something that offend the Netizen.

For private ranting, create an alternate email yahoo/gmail of an imaginary friend.
Write your rant on another email account and send to your imaginary friend.

FB account is mainly use for playing games and share some photos. It is not really for ranting.

In SG, it is a small world, your friends of friends of friends of friends can easily find out if you post something bad about him/her.

DTA! Even close to you but at management level, got to be more careful. You never know how they looks on you when they at that post and you still a small fly.

Some people use FB for sharing company's annual dinner photos.

As photographers, we should turn negative to positive.

Only show the positive in FB and not the negative.

For personal use - My record was once 160 contacts... now down to 92.... its more than enough.

Many new people you meet ask "are you on FB" i generally say No..... unless they are people I socialise with regular basis or just close friends from school , study / past work days I not bother.......

Separate matter - I manage a page on behalf of a company and have grown this page in 6 months from 1,200 to 15,000 "likes".
