Hi, newbie here. 1 month into photography and just started doing landscapes :)

1. In what area is critique to be sought?
Composition, colours or what else I could be doing in pp.

2. What one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Showcasing the sunset and the contrast in the sky

3. Under what circumstance is the picture taken?
Was cycling at ECP that day in the evening and caught the sunset at Bedok Jetty. Didn't bring a tripod and don't have any ND filters yet, so used the railing as a makeshift "tripod" and tried increasing exposure time by uping the aperture value (obviously not enough).

4. What the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture.
The placement of the sun doesn't feel right to me but I don't really know what's wrong. And is the image too underexposed for sunset shots?

Thanks for viewing and critiquing in advance :)

No clear subject other than the sun. It would be good if there was a foreground anchor. Nice feel otherwise.

like the cat before me said... there is nothing to look at other than the sun.

you could include interesting structure to contrast against emptiness

Thank you both for your C&Cs. I think that should be what I felt was missing from the photo. Thanks for pointing it out:) Will take note of this when I do landscapes in the future

Nice capture but should add something in the foreground if not will be quite boring. The sky is beautiful nevertheless :)

Thank you! Yeah yesterday's sunset was beautiful. Kinda wasted this shot. Realised I actually had another snapshot of the sunset with the railings and a cyclist included but not well composed. Pity I did not work on that more.

We make mistakes all the time. Continue shooting and you'll get the hang of it one day! All the best!

Haha that is genius of you! Wow! I'm highly enlightened by your amazingly intellectual input to me and very honoured for you to pay special attention to my comment, ignoring a few other similar comments.

:)
