ha ha, in 50 years the world will probably run out of cheap fossil fuels. Our lives could revert back to:

running out of fuels will results in whole world collapse.

people kill, hunt and rob each other. Safest place to stay may be on a island with no access to the outside world.

The sky will be finally dark to see the stars.

Fish will be abandon and new species be found.

No more food and no more clean water, many people died.

Island like Singapore which depends solely on import die faster.

No, better born in this generation, otherwise can't read Sion post any more :bsmilie:

Don't worry lah, Sion is the reincarnation of Laozi so he will be back.

I don't know but would be nice if are already a Type I or Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale.

Currently we are approximately 0.8 on the Kardashev scale. It is the transition between Type 0 and Type I that posed the most challenging aspects, hypothetically majority of the civilisations is said to destroy themselves or will be wiped out during this transition period.

I don't have children and don't intend to have any. 50 years from now, I will be 88 if I'm still alive so I don't really give a damn about 2064. Why think about 50 years later when people can't even get their freakin act together in 2014?

You can supply aunties? :bsmilie:

Aunties okay but not those in their 90s. :nono:
Their hearts may not be able to take it.

I always wonder if I am doing my children a major disfavour by bringing them into this (some say cursed) world.

The only difference between you and me is I asked that question before I have kids, you asked after.

I was young and stupid :dunno:

Don't be too hard on yourself. I wouldn't call having kids a stupid decision but at the very least, you got to get them ready for the world. Calibrate your expectations and their's too if you want them to be happy.
