Right now I have someone hand wash my laundry at home. I am trying to change to machine wash. I would like to find out how do you handle your laundries. This is especially so headache if you have mother, wife and young kids at home. How do you machine wash their lingeries? You cannot mix the bras and panties. You cannot mixed mother, wife and children panties for hygiene reasons. Then there is my underwear. And my dad`s underwear. And you cannot mixed the bras cos of different material. Then there are the tops, pants and blouses. How huh? The washing machine have to use so many washes, rinses and spin dry - quite high water consumption.

So how do you handle your laundry for your home?

My household not many complications like yours leh. Straightforward wash and dry

Modern washing machines have selectable wash programs for the various situations you mentioned.

They have water saving features.

Reasonably good brands are:

Miele
Bosch
Thomson (top loading)
Ariston
Electrolux
Zanussi
Brandt

There is a new brand in town: Beko
Apparently they are so big an OEM that some other brands are actually made by them.

You can put the different clothes in different pails and queue them up.
Wash one after another by arranging different day for different clothes.
eg. Monday wash one type and Tuesday wash another.

There is this thing call laundry bag...you can use a few in one wash....group similar type together e.g under garment, socks, gentle fabric...anything else like Jeans, T shirts...pents all just dump in except white color stuff, press a button and come back in 40 minutes to collect and hang dry....bed linen...white color stuff etc wash separately...

Please handwash your own bras, lingeries and undies and hang them on a bamboo stick from your window.

This is the standard practice in our HDP.

Different people use a different stick to avoid contamination.:)

Don't forget to hide girlfriend's bras, lingeries and undies from wife.

Wash them secretly when she is not at home. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. With so many categories and someone mentioned socks. Yes sweaty smelly socks. How possible to mix them. Imagine your undies and your socks being washed together.

Even with rotation, it will be a fulltime job just to man the washing machine. I am wondering if there are small washer that are invented for lingeries?

there are laundry bag available for you to use on delicate clothing, and socks can wash together with floor towel.
anyway do you have enough space to hang all the laundry? so you still need to wash them in batch, you can wash one round before you sleep, the next morning wash another round. hang the laundry wash from last night, by noon you will have space for handing another round of laundry.
these are good tips.

Is there a washer that mimic handwash . I know there are quite a few that have this feature but really scrubbing handwash. My mom is quite particular about this. She insists that clothes will not be clean until you give it a scrub.
