My couple of month old K-30 is having problems, the autofocus will constantly move in and out while attempting to focus on a subject.

The problem: the K-30 was on a tripod and centering on a small eBay sale product against a well lit white backdrop, I would think this would be very simple to focus on. I used both screw-driven and SDM lenses to see if it was a lens problem. I believe it is an problem with the camera because my wife has a K-30 and it was able to target nearly immediately in the exact same place on the tripod with the exact same lens.

Creates this change sound like a setting problem or does this camera need to be sent into Pentax for test and servicing? It was bought a few months ago from online store.

Ts this should be posted in the Pentax/Ricoh sub forum where you will get more targeted help.

Moderator pls do so thank you.

I think it might be some settings of the AF points. Maybe try resetting to the default settings? Or manually select which AF point you want to camera to shoot?

And yup you should post this at the Ricoh/Pentax forum. Can get more replies. Hope you can find a solution!

Minimum focus distant?

Minimum focus distant?

Thought of that but don't think so they both used the same lens and tripod (probably same position). Could be a cause too.
