Where is the leaked images???
Lol... Time to save up for another lens.

Come to think of it, Nikon has a good range of F1.8 lenses.
28/1.8, 35/1.8(up coming),50/1.8, 85/1.8
All 4 of them wil be around $2.3k price range. Time to go overseas & source for cheaper alternatives.

If bulk and weight is not an issue, I'll take Sigma's excellent 35mm f/1.4 over this anytime.

I respect your decision, but shouldn't this type of comment be reserved till the lens actually surfaced (if it did at all?) and performance reviewed? Otherwise it is just a blanket statement and fanboy-type response.

I was so used to seeing the "N" Nano Crystal Coat label instead of the "ED" label that I thought the new 35mm f1.8 was an old lens.

Nano only on the 35 1.4G lens.

This is the old 35 1.8G DX, for comparison:

Yeah, I know. I currently use the Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G DX lens.

I was just so used to seeing Nikon deploying the Nano Crystal Coat in all their new FX lenses. That or nothing.. Like the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8G.

Half the cost for the younger brethren. For those who will not or may not move to FX.

Think this lens might juz kills off his dx little brother ....

Not killing. The price difference between the two is quite big

I rather buy this one over the Sigma one, lighter is always better for me. :)

Yes. Agree.

The current sigma 35/1.4 ergonomics I find also is not so good due to its heavy weight and its quite long which tends to pull the body frontwards.
It also defeat the purpose of carrying a small, light prime lens.

D3300 as back uo body along with this lens. Super lah since the D3300 doesn't have the AA filter.

In fact, all new Nikon camera, D3300, D5300, D7100, D800E do not have AA filter.
This is a good news for photographer, but maybe a bad news for videographer.

Maybe in the future all Nikon cameras will focus on pure photography

Of course! I suspect they will remove video capabilities altogether from all lines, it would be a huge step for photographers.
