SWORD-WIELDING "SAMURAI" TERRIFIES COMMUTERS ON MRT

TRS reader Qarl sent in photos showing a big-sized man carrying a sword, frightening passengers when he boarded the train.

Screenshots of a video circulating on social media has also appeared on many social media platforms.

According to the TRS reader, police officers were called to the scene and the man alighted the train at the Dhoby Ghaut station.

He said:

I saw these photos on Twitter today (Dec 16).

A big-sized man was seen holding onto a sword when he boarded the train.

According to the person who tweeted the photos, the man was shouting and commuters were seen running to one side of the train in fear.

Police officers were also called to the scene and was seen protecting these civilians.

From what I understand, the man just alighted the train at Dhoby Ghaut station.

It is unsure how did the "Samurai" manage to even the MRT stations to board the train in the first place.

most likely the sword was in a sword bag. i've seen commuters carrying it on buses, trains and even on the streets. and you need to be certified to own a katana. most probably this guy has one, and therefore was allowed to go through.

There's this umbrella where the handle looks just like a samurai sword's handle when it's folded. Perhaps

Where was this fake samurai impostor last Sunday night when he could have contributed something worth while to keeping the peace in society?
No where to be found. Now that the riot is over and it is safe for him to appear, he just wayang only. All show and no action. It is just cosplay for an adult who thinks he is still a kid. Even got beer belly. Physically out of shape, still want to pose as samurai. He probably watched the movie 47 Ronin on a rented DVD.

By the way, how did this clown get past the much vaunted MRT security check staff (the ones who make a fuss checking your bag), go through the turnstile/gantry, get on the MRT platform and wait 3 to 5 minutes before the next train arrives? All this time the MRT station staff did NOTHING? They could see him on their CCTV.
