Which Mediacorpse Channel 8 Drama do you think is the worst and the best?

Give them a chance.
It is a factory.
They have to keep on grinding out the stuff.

If Hong Kong directors are engaged, then they bring their way of doing things. It can be a bit strange.

The mediacorp artistes have a serious problem - over exposure.

When you keep seeing the same old faces from one serial to the next, it gets boring.

Our talent pool is small compared to PRC or Hong Kong TV stations.

Part of the purpose in having own country's media factory is so that Singapore can control the cultural content/message that it sends out in its serials.

I think Malaysian Chinese, especially those in Malacca liked

The Little Nyonya 小娘惹

With a good theme song

sung by

Olivia Ong 王俪婷

Some were good because they relate to our unique short history.

雾锁南洋 (The Awakening)

and

红头巾 Hong Tou Jin (Samsui Women)

Theme song beautifully sung by Taiwanese Singer Sarah Chen Shu Hua 陈淑桦

Last time ok. Nowadays, it's like robot acting!

only those heavily sponsored ones are good.
The rest all junk

Personally like "The Oath"

Mediacorp's 新少林寺 is best:
shaolin-5.jpg

It's a moving story starred by new young local talents.

:)

They produced shows for the dead? Hence Media "corpse"...........lol........

I like the "85 degrees C" series. Not so because of the acting, but I believe the videographer is good. Shooting at various angles, framing, thin dof, etc. I am seeing it through the lens ...

Pillow Talk was rather good.

The scripting, dialog and acting was more down to earth.

When there is no competition, you don't think out of of the box. It is either we compete of just buy and forget about local productions. Unfortunate but factual.

I can't stand their over the top stylo approach. If you ever watch police raid depicted in CLIF....

My parents and in laws were watching, while I happened to walk pass. It totally blew me away negatively.

Just to add: I did witness a police arrest in Bedok Interchange years back. The police officers (2 officers) tried to pin the suspect down, and the suspect resisted.

There's nothing glamorous about it. No shaolin style flying kicks, or praying mantis punch. It's just like watching a wrestling contest, where the officers tried their best to harmlessly arrest the guy.

And the CLIF advertised that they consulted the SPF in the making?

Real life is boring, hence the kung fu.

On the contrary, it's very challenging. Try to pin down someone who is stronger without any disabling strike....

It will gives the audience the experience of real life challenges faced by officers in their day to day tasks.

I found Mediacop drama is not dramatic enough....until they match up to Korean like Stairway to Heaven or Winter Sonata which I think it's a classic now, then I will start watching :)
