The underground drainage from my washing machine into the toilet drainage was choked, flooding the kitchen. So used a wingling coiled wire thingy to clear the choke (bought for $3.50). Than suddenly I have an idea.

If I throw some menthol sweets into the piping, than pour a big bottle of coke into it, than pour boiling water to clear the coke, will it clear the choke???:think:

So did u try it ?

My guts tell me u will have ended up paying for a plumber's services and having to wipe coke off the walls though

I use bleach to clear when the kitchen sink gets clogged up.

no lar, it was just an idea, not sure if it will work.

Haha, pls don't.

Sion's idea is ok. If not , go buy a proper drain un-clogger at NTUC or any hardware shop. :)

If it's the drainage for washing machine, the clog may not be the same as kitchen sink which is always caused by oil deposit.
If you intend to use the coke + menthol sweets, please don't forget to record the video :bsmilie:

For kitchen sink, the best is this powder, which remove the oil deposit

He must be working in a motor repair workshop to be able to clog the washing machine drainage with oil. :bsmilie:

Pour bleach into clogged drain and let it stay there for a few hours. Then flush it with hot hot water always work.

Sometimes it's a coin blocking the drainage. See if you can open it up and check.

Long ago there was a Singapore New Paper report of a local Malay man blinded by an explosion of pipe cleaner chemicals that he used to unclog his kitchen pipe. Maybe he was using it wrongly.
If you follow instructions, it should be alright.

I have used a similar product called SlowFlow bought from a DIY store Home-Fix.
They have another more powerful product for fully clogged pipes.

When using, check whether it is safe to use for your type of pipe.

These are corrosive chemicals so be careful.

Kleen already makes something like that. WHen it comes in contact with water it will go whizzing and creates lots of bubbles. It also contain some heavy metal pieces so as to break through the clog...

after reading denniskee article, i a bit scare leh, is this one toxic?

Bleach are corrosive. If you are using cast iron pipe, do be careful. A mechanical drain cleaning rod would do the best job. Usually you don't get choke from washing machine. More likely it is sharing the same floor trap with your kitchen waste. So it the the harden lilt rather that washing machine dirt that is causing the choke.
