Hi guys,

I've been using my LX3 for a couple of years now and find that its quite heavy.. (Of course, not heavy compared to all of your pro DSLR etc!)

But I just want to travel light!

I'm looking at Sony RX100, Canon s110 and Powershot 330.

Got any other recommendations?

Hopefully can find one that is below 160 grams and with WIFI capability. Zoom is not important to me as i seldom use it.

Thank you!

You want the most compact yet you picked some of the heaviest LOL.

I suggest you head to the shops to get a better feel for the cameras. As for weight, look on the manufacturer website or dpreview to see the listed weight.

HAHA! I know!!!

I really quite like the Sony RX100 but the weight.. over 260 grams!

I need more info before i head down to the shops, or else most probably i will get psycho by the salesman and go ahead and purchase it! :(

Pentax also got nice cameras but seem quite heavy too. :(

Tried the RX100M2, X10, X20, DLux6, Q10 and i stayed with the DLux 6 at the very end. I'm interested only in high end compacts though. If u wan a standard P n S: woah, endless list of models to consider.

Bought , used 2 weeks to review suitability. :) Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, u gotta try them out and feel them. If u need opinion on + or - on any model i tried here , just reply and I can share.

BTW, just for fun; the most compact undoubtly must be the Nikon S01 (96grams). My friend attaches it like a keychain to her hp. That's how compact it is.

thats really tiny!!!

But nikon coolpix series are not that good? Was told by my sis lar, her own opinion as she used to own a nikon coolpix.

I need a fast camera for dogs and pets and good low light/indoor shots.

Was considering the Nikon S6600 but not much reviews online yet.

I would pick the RX100 if money isn't an issue and you want the picture qualities but the weight is above the LX3 you're using. Frankly, if you don't care about the image quality or shoot mainly daytime, any Canon or Sony lightweight would do the trick - just pick the lightest. However, that is seldom the case as we see people want light, want super low-light capabilities.

Given your three choices, I would pick the Canon S110 (having owned and used the S95) since it will be a lot lighter yet still a decent camera.

Thanks!
But i think rx100 is really too big for me!

Any other PNS cameras with zero or lowest shutter lag? Need to take fast moving toddlers or pets.

Is the S110 fast? As in minimal shutter lag?

Thanks!

TS, if portability and size are really the issues, why don't you use the camera in your handphone? Or get the new samsung galaxy phone/camera?

I'm actually using the samsung s4, but the shutter lag on this phone is really bad! I can't capture good shots of moving pets and kids. :(

Which is why i'm considering to get a "proper" PNS camera, thats lightweight and most importantly almost zero shutter lag. (If possible)

seriously, you will barely notice the weight at all. what you're looking for is whether it's compact enough to fit into your pocket, right? a hundred grams makes no difference, unless you seriously need to start working out.

Like that ah...... I don't know what else to suggest if you find that the LX3 or X20 is too heavy for your liking .... :))

Oh..... How about the RICOH GR? It is only 245g.

As a YODA, your light saber is much heavier than a compact camera. LOL! :)

So sorry to be so particular with the weight.

I'm female and you know, somehow our bags can be so loaded with stuff and that's why i am so particular about the weight. :embrass:

I always carry so little stuff, but somehow by the end of the day ah, suddenly can be so heavy! Always make me wonder who put stones in my bag without me knowing. Haha!

Be one with the force you must. Then feel the weight you will not.

The weight doesn't matter much as it's only few hundred grams. I would recommend the Ricoh gr if you have budget. Else x10, x20, rx100 all good PnS.
