Have you read the reviews and tried some hands-on in the shops?

Hi rashkae, I've read the reviews but I haven't hands on with it in shop yet

Even after reading their reviews, I'm still unable to make up my mind thus asking for advice here

Have you notice why so many "great", "best" lenses and cameras in the buy and sell section? Cos there many people found out the gears does not suit them after following all the recommendations and reviews.

The RX100II is a compact camera with 1" sensor and variable aperture zoom lens.

The Ricoh GR is a APS-C sensor compact camera with fixed 28/2.8 lens.
Its designed to be fast reacting (eg. snap focus, buttons for fast access) and high aps-c quality image.

Totally different in design and usage philosophy.
You got to know what you are looking for to decide between the two.

You have to go for hands on. You need to decide if you need zoom or not, smaller or bigger, which feels easier to use, etc.

You're not helping one bit :bsmilie:

I was also looking for compact 2 months ago ended up with canon G15 after my research and trying in camera shops. I feel its very good for my needs. U may consider it too its pretty nice little cam with good proportion of compactness and features. Plus the lens is bright even on the zoom compare to other similar range compacts and this gives real advatnage in lowlight and to have some oof area if u r interested in :)
U may check flickr.com/imm_arshad few new photos of cameron highlands taken from this cam
