Hello guys,

I'm looking to buy a de-kitted lens that is bundled with the olympus ep5 which was just released last month.
So safe to say, all the body/lens are last then a month old with warranty.
I'll check the list under 'things to check when buying 2nd hand lens' and will get photocopy of the receipt and warranty card.
Just wondering if there is any other thing that I need to take note or look out for? e.g. tempering of original parts etc?

Thanks :)

Ya those r in the "list of things to check when buying a 2nd hand lens" already.
I'm just curious coz I see many of them buying and selling within days after buying, some almost the next day selling the kits separately. Some even have a couple of sets to sell/sold.
Just wondering if there's anything going on.
If its just to make some money out of it I'm fine with that as long as I'm getting a legit lens with proper warranty.
Anyone has any ideas what's going on?
Thanks for any discussion~

Well... u can check their purchase date and warranty... also check the serial number of the lens if it matches those on the warranty.

It is actually quite a normal practice for people to buy a body with kit lens and immediately sell the kit lens the next day... The seller might already have a previous body with that same lens, then when he upgrade a new body, he could opt for the kit lens too, then sell the lens out to make some money and cover some of his cost, or sometime, the body come with a kit lens and there is no option for buying body alone only, so the seller might bought that set and sell the lens because he had no use for the lens.

Either way, do what was already suggested to you in the list of things to check and what I had advised and don't worry too much. If really got problem, you can still bring your lens down to repair since it was covered by warranty.

Ya, that one is normal, selling the kit lens and just keep the body. But I'm seeing quite a few selling both the lens and body separately and some even sold 2 of the same set before. Like July sold one set and aug sold another.
I'm just curious la, not really worrying as long as the warranty and lens condition r all proper.
Thanks for the reply :)
