Hi, I saw the following deal from my local camera shop. Prices after conversion to SGD

AFS 24-70: $2060
AFS 16-35: $1340

All are brand new with 1 year international warranty from nikon. Is the price cheap? As compared to HK and anywhere else. Thanks

Looks like HK price or Malaysia price. Surely is cheaper than Singapore and comparable to HK price

16-35 f4 VR is already cheaper than a couple of asking price in BNS.

24-70 f2.8 is just alittle more expensive than those selling now in the BNS.

Saw it from my local camera shop in australia. Comes with 1 year international warranty or 2 years nikon australia warranty.

Is it worth to buy if a grey set of the AFS 24-70 selling at about $2160? Any warranty issue can be claimed against the shop.

Sounds like a great deal. Especially when most of the times australian prices are way above singapore prices even. But do check if the deal is really legit. Because from my understanding there is no option for 2 years local warranty in australia for lenses. Just a quick check on Nikon website you already know: http://www.nikon.com.au/en_AU/warranty.page

haha.. tough choice. if you r comfortable with the prime, you will probably yield pretty good image most of the time and the 24-70 would become secondary. 35mm f1.4 thread has plenty of great photos. i would just opt for only the 35mm and save the 2k for something else; but this is indiv preference.

Anyway, is the store having a local sale or is this a JB Hi-Fi promo? one of those cash rebate promo? no significant sale that i can think of for this period of the year based on what i can recall.

Haha, its actually just some in store discount off the shelf price. You seem quite familiar with here haha

If you're using d800 w s35/1.4, you can crop down to 70mm. I do this sometimes. My 24-70 is benched quite often since I got the siggy.

Good deal!! Thought you are based in Singapore. :)
