Sharing my research on ::DRY CABINETS.::

Just bought my Digicab AD-50N. Would like to check what should I do with the warranty card? Really need to go online and register warranty and mail out the warranty card? Or can keep the card together with the receipt of purchase?

Hi to all,

I have just purchased an Akarui Dry Cabinet from Cathay recently....it was delivered over the weekend and as instructed by the delivery guy, it was on for half a day to achieve the balance humidity level before I place my cameras in.

When I was shopping for this dry cabinet, I was told that the cabinet will auto power-cut when the humidity is within the appropriate range. But the dry cabinet has been on for 2 days and I can still see the red power light on, so is it right to see the light? Or what should I be expecting? The analog hygrometer is showing below 50 which is the Medium range that was set.

Please advise me, thanks.

Hi all, I think i got the same problem but my hygrometer is always showing around 30-35. Can anyone please advise? Will this affect my camera, lenses? Thank you in advance.

I never trust the hygrometer that comes with the dry box. Casio has desk top digital clocks that comes with hygrometer readings. Why not put one inside and do a comparison?

Any idea where I can buy Toyo Living cabinets? Had a good experience with one I bought back in 1995 at Cathay Marina. Still working until today! Want to get another one for my home but it seems that Cathay doesn't carry it anymore.

hi guys,

Just bought a DHC-60 last few day. Any reason why my LCD RH level showed 20%? i try open the door about 30min and it still same %
Any posibility faulty on the dry cabinet?

I got external hydrometer with me .. my room humidity is 76%

Hi

I wonder if anyone can advise me. I have a very old (almost 8 year-old) Rodex 60L dry cabinet which has been working fine all this time. However, when I shifted it 2 days back to make room for a larger one (148L Akarui), the motor housing on the Rodex broke. The corners, where the bolts go in, basically disintegrated..

Does anyone know if these motors are standard and can be purchased without the cabinet? The cabinet is still in good shape, including the hygrometer.

Thanks in advance!

I'm moving to Canberra Australia, will I still need a dry cabinet?

I'm moving to Canberra Australia, will I still need a dry cabinet?

Its hard to say... I stayed in Perth for about 3 years back when I still in university. Corn flakes left on the countertop still stayed crispy through out summer... Winter might be a little moist thou....

hi, i just bought a akarui E40D with the digital hygrometer, but been trying to set it right for the past few days, i noticed that the RH level seemed to fluctuate between 43 to 52, is this normal? and also, will switching on air con affect the RH level? and is it ok to place our camera straps and stuff inside together with the camera? thanks

and for the info, the dry cabi is empty...

Hi, im new to digi cabinet. Just bought. a second hand one online yesterday. Anyone have a user guide for this exact model? Ive already searched in google but idk how to operate it.

Issit normal for the hygrometer stays at 49% since i switch the power on? The dial inside is set to M for now.

Thanks in advance for ur help guys! Really worried.

To be honest, anything less than 60% is good. You don't want it too dry or else your leather or rubberized portions will start to crack

What is most important is the humidity drops. If you open the door and the humidity is 90%, does it drop to 60% or lower? If so, think it's fine

Hey guys, anyone used the HS-50 dry cabinet from Digicabi? Apparently it's a "plug and play" system and only Default setting at 45% RH. Anyone have any experience with this?

The condenser/drying unit for my digicabi AD-160 bought in 2009 failed last week.
The first breakdown since purchased.
After a quick call to digihub, dismantled the unit and brought it for servicing the next day.
The unit's motherboard was replaced immediately.

While waiting for the motherboard to be replaced, i was told there are some who returned a week later to replace the motherboard again.
So far my replacement unit has been up to expectation keeping the RH constant.
I placed additional hygrometer on the top shelf close to the cabinet's hygrometer and another at the bottom shelf and have a difference of +-2% RH between them.

Even though my cabinet is fully occupied, it doesn't take long to maintain constant RH after re-installation when the uncle at digihub whom i remembered was the one who delivered my cabinet back in 2009 adviced me to set the dial at 3 o'clock after re-installation.
It took me about 6hrs over the weekend tweaking the dial to achieve desired RH.

Overall i'm happy with the service turnaround time provided by digihub.

Sorry Bratz, in your post regarding AIPO dry cabinet you mention that the AP-48ex do have stickers.

Why do you need stickers may I know ?
