Overseas - Dry Box required?

Sorry for a noobie question, but my thoughts are, if I'm leaving my comfortable home with dry cabinet to overseas, let say 2 weeks - 1 month.

Should I grab a dry box along? Since a dry box is not very huge nor heavy, and can fit in our camera + lens.

I've read up some comments about that but they only stated like 3-5 days.

3-5 days no need dry box cuz fungus take time to grow but how about 2 weeks to 1 month?

I really appreciate constructive comments for newbies like myself.

Main question: what is 'overseas' to you? Check the climate at your destination. Everything that is close to the target RH of your dry box .. well.. it's obvious.
If you have read all the advices then re-read again what is stated about daily usage. Stop being kiasu, enjoy your holidays. Unless you enjoy lugging around dry boxes, of course :bsmilie:

Of cuz, not really enjoy lugging around dry boxes.. just paranoid..

Got go outdoor but always have those small packs that absorb humidity..
Indeed, I'm always a kiasu guy.. haha..

Probably I always have this mindset of, prepare for worst but hope for the best.
So to prepare for the worst, lens got fungus. To prevent that, dry box. whahaha...

Haha.. for 1mth I might just bring a small dry box.. But like one of the guys said.. if the rh is like below 50, then no point.
Buy silicon gel n throw in a ziplock?

no need. cold places are usually dry.

There's only a risk if you leave it in a dark, damp place. If you're taking it out, shooting with it, etc, no worries. Be less paranoid and use the camera as it was meant to.be used

Haha. You can bring a dry box if you want. I never bother with such thoughts.

anyway, thanks guys! Will close the thread with added information from another thread.

Here is a packing list for you:
1. Camera
2. Lens
3. Memory card
4. Battery
5. Battery charger

Your camera is not made of tofu.

However..really..dont think too much and Just be normal..go ahead and enjoy your holiday..take picture as and when you need to.. However do practice common sense and be street smart..
Alittle dust/dirt or rain water on the camera or lens will not make it malfunction or less pretty.

important = waterproof bag
hand carry = correct
one body & one lens = correct
you might also want to bring along a set of lens cleaning kit (travel-pack?)

Enjoy the trip. Be vigilant though, don't worry about your camera and lens. If you've got a lens hood, slap it on, or a UV lens filter, or both if you're really paranoid. Just remember to remove the filter if you're taking any night shots.

The answer is no. Not even for 3 months if you are going to be using your camera daily.

Even in singapore I know some photographers who use their gear daily and do not use a dry cab. No problems.
