Yes I notice the focus the peaking doesnt activate automatically when lens is engaged in manual. Perhaps a firmware will fix that.

I notice the EVF also flickers in indoor fluorescent lighting. The menu allows us to set the refresh rate of the EVF to minimize that effect.. Otherwise my EVF works fine in other lighting

I see...the EVF looks fine (havent really test it out, only initial assessment), but the flickers is much more obvious for the LCD screen under fluorescent lighting (when i pressed on the shutter trying to focus). the flickers only appear at the boarder (2 sides) of the LCD. tested on 2 sets. it's the same.

Went down to Olympus to collect the voucher and pick up the lens hood. Also picked up a Barton strap from Alan Photo.

Really like the 2x2 dial control, easily one of the better m43 cameras I've used!

The 17/1.8 certainly ain't complete without the good ol' VF-1! :)

SO FINALLY COLLECTED MY EP5!!! as well as the voucher and lens hood.

Next buys: a neck strap, Sirui T005K tripod from TKfoto, and screen protector! Any recommended brand or shop for screen protector?

One BIG question i need to ask, when the camera is on, there is a barely audible hiss if you place ur ears near the screen. but once i half-press the shutter button, the audible hiss gets significantly louder that i can hear it without effort and will last for about 1 sec after i release the shutter button.

and it seems like this only started to happen about 30 minutes ago. before that, it is either i don't have this hissing at all, or the environment i was in was noisier than my bedroom such that i can't here the hissing (btw, i entered 30 min ago...)

Is this normal? are the rest of you getting the hiss?

i'm amazed how much i'm learning through trial and error. i've managed to remove the loud hiss, by disabling the IBIS. meaning that IBIS actually creates a loud hiss while you are half-pressing the shutter button.

But still, just want to double check with the rest of you all, do you all get the louder hiss when you half-press the shutter button?

I believe it's normal. Mine does the same thing as well.

What I don't get however is sometimes I notice a large floating white square that sometimes pop-up using the Liveview. Thought it could be face detection, except that there are no one in the scene. Shouldn't be C-AF or something cause I was in S-AF. Anyone knows what that could be?

Hissing sounds is ibis. And white box should be face detection. Can turn it off should be gone. Try turn on the super control panel if you haven', much easier to access the controls:)

I suspected could be face detection but it was weird when the box was so huge (almost half the screen). Guess the face detection is easily "fooled".

For peaking, map one of your buttons to turn on manually.

If a manual lens is used, will need to set a button. If legacy lens it will auto FP when the manual focus ring is turned, setting needs to be s-af+mf or mf. And certainly needs to turn focus peaking on, it's "hidden" in MF assist.

How do I turn on the super control panel?

I am trying the wifi function on the ep5, i managed to connect to my iphone, but is there a way to show the pics on my iphone immediately when a pic is taken.
currently i am only able to sync from ep5 to iphone when the ep5 is at the wifi screen. once when i am shooting mode(AV,TV,M mode), i am not able to sync.
Try setting the mode dial to iAuto. That is the only mode that will allow control of the camera.

seems like theres some sound or loose component. is this normal?

Pairing with a pana lens..but i realise the stabiliser on the body was not very gd..not sure if it is the setting.
i remmeber in the roadshow..the person showed me that the live view will remain locked even when there is slight cam shake..but mine doenst..really need more time to figure out.

hopefully the sound doesnt mean my stabilizer is spoil.
