Nice shot! Glad to see a Pentax cam being used for astrophotography in Singapore. Singapore is definitely not ideal for astrophotography due to heavy light pollution. Hope to see more photos from your Malaysia trip esp those by k30! :)

Thanks for sharing Makenshisita.
Omega is quite a nice naked eye object in Singapore...if the conditions are right!
Are you following Tasos or Singastro for your Obs trip? :)

@Jin TK : While Singapore is not an ideal place for astrophography, that does not mean you can't do it.
Check out the astrophotos taken by local amatuers here (some are taken in Singapore). Some are very good. :)

Nice.... Where was it taken?

Hi Cubicon,
I normally go up with other friends.
not with Remus group.

Hi Philip,

normally for the Canikons, even for other brand like Sony which has the stabilizer as well, you would need something called an equatorial mount to track the stars.
normally, equatorial mount are much heavier and a lot of time needed to spend on Align an Equatorial Mount.

Here is how an Equatorial Mount would look like vs a normal tripod.
