Chinatown?

Is the warranty still valid in singapore apple? Are these sets considered grey? Or are they fakes? Iphone 5 16 gb going for 800 versus 980 in authorized shops.

Either second hand sets passed off as new, fakes, or a surprise $300 "activation and registration" fee. Apple controls prices strictly.

So its all a scam??? There was one shop that was selling iphone 5 for $688 but must bundle with things which the salesman alluded to includes a $100 bluetooth headset.

If it's too good to be true...

Think about it. If there was a shop selling new iPhones for $200 cheaper than apple, people would buy them by the dozen just to resell abroad

But maybe this IS the street price. I do not know honestly hence just wanted to ask. Mobilesquare seems to be legitimate though.....who settles their warranty? Apple or the telcos?

With mobilesquare, it's the telcos or direct to apple.

Apple fiercely controls prices. There are no favorable "street prices" unless these are the sign line sets.

Don't we know this tactics already from cheap camera sales where suddenly the discounted price is only 'valid' if some crappy adapters, filters and other rubbish needs to be purchased in the bundle? Skip it, unless you are adventurous enough and you have $800 to spare easily...

think about it.....chinatown shops WILLING to sell cheaper by $200 etc..they DUN like making profits?

Just buy what u need..not those extra stuff like...cases...external batteries...a WOW bluetooth set....

google Mobilesquare for prices..look for Wilfred. im not advertising for him..

Just that been buying /selling phones from him since my Nokia days..his place is one of the best there is..in terms of the REAL deal..without any crappy free this free that..(add another $200 for these..)

get my point?

My friend actually got a deal offered..around Chinatown....he wanted a Nokia 920....(built in 32gb..no memory card slot..) and ..guy actually asked him top up some cash for a 32gb micro sd card..) Does that even make any sense?

OK. Read all your advice loud and clear. I guess, I thought that the rent is cheaper in chinatown so they can undercut a bit. Whatever the case, its clear that it is not safe to buy from them. Thanks!! Will try mobilesquare instead.

Oh yeah...golden rule number one..check for any dead pixels at the shop...if not u gotta go to the brand store (Nokia/apple/Samsung/Sony/HTC) for exchange..just check for dead pixels.

Sat and Sunday normally very crowded.they open think 2pm onwards.check website for details before heading down.

You're "TSC" on the HWZ forums, huh? ;)
