Dear ppls..

currently i m a DX body user. Tot of getting a FX body. Now the question is i have a few lenses like Tamron 90mm, nikon 50 1.8G, Tamron 18-270 pzd, Sigma 10-20 and Sigma 17-50 F2.8. To my understanding is tat it better to use FX lenses on FX body but can any of tis lenses i own to be use on a FX body? will there be any things tat i need to look out if i use it on a FX body if the answer is yes. i know some ppl will advise me to sell the old lenses away to fund for a FX len but still i would very much like to keep my DX body and lenses for other usage. pls advise....thank you.

If you use a DX lens on an FX body, then the camera will auto-crop to dx size.

Some of your lenses are fx lenses anyway.

For Nikon lenses, look on the Nikon site. For sigma lenses, look on the sigma site etc. ;-)

You can use both FX and DX lenses on FX cameras. The reason why FX lenses are generally preferred is because:

1. You get to utilize the entire FX sensor
1a. Using DX lenses will, generally speaking, force you to utilize the camera is DX crop mode, which is to use a smaller, center part of the sensor. If you overwrite that, the image will have a black crop circle or very excessive vignette. There are exceptions to this, but just get the basic understanding right first

2. Because you use the entire sensor, the angle of view is wider.
