Passed by a chinese cemetary during sunset today. Families gathering around rows of tombstones, burning joss sticks and joss paper. The smoke around the place and add the orange sky and clouds. It seems can get some dramatic shots.

Is it taboo to be photographing in a cemetery at this time?

if you do politely and with clear conscience, why not.

results may be even more interesting if shot in infrared !

Agree with Shizuma.. But not all Chinese families take well to being photographed. Tread lightly

Even if not taboo, I'll also not like you to take photos of my family without my permission then..

If you ask me I'll say no, if u shoot with 200mm I'll close one eye..

Shoot with a 200mm Round? you're gonna decimate the entire cemetery! :bsmilie:

Something may follow you home if you take their tombstone photo.

Yes... don't make a grave mistake :bsmilie:

I saw some spirits outside a Catholic church admiring my work while doing late night flower arranging at 12am for following day's wedding... :D human looking shadows at the corner of my eye.

Not bad la. Ghost also come and admire... :p

Must buy 600mm f/4 lens... then ok. ;)

If ghosts follow you, schedule them for a nude hotel shoot.

Spent nights in a remote REBRO outpost at a mountaintop cemetery during Exercise Starlight with FLIR and NVG equipped.

Seen nothing out of the ordinary, though one of our tripwired flares did went off unexpectedly probably due to human error.
