Windows 8 laptop for recommendation...

Any recommendation? I want something light and portable yet allow me to do photo editing in PS / Lightroom.

When you say light, what will be the weight you are looking for? Ultrabook is lightweight but in terms of processing power will be much less compare to non ultrabook laptops.

You may want to consider Sony S Series 15" with IPS display FHD, it is using i7 and weight only 2kg inclusive battery.

Thanks for the suggestion. As long as it is lighter than my 2009 MacBook white; it is great

Dell XPS13 looks good.
Comes with i7; weight only 1.36kg.

Depends on which i7, it has few types dual core and quad core. Sony model is using i7 quad core Also I dont think XPS is FHD (Full HD) though

Previously, I was using MacBook white...

Now I am considering if I should just stick to Mac and get a higher end model...MacBook Pro with Retina...

Thanks...I am unsure if Apple has a different QC standard for MacBook white...mine is only 4 years...the headphone jack stop working and the HDD just stopped...

If that is the case, I will just get the MacBook Pro Retina....hope that it will perform better...

Nah. When you buy a mac, expect the same QC as Asus - because Asus manufactures them.

Something you should know. In USA, some people pay $$$ money to remove Wdw8 and replace with Wdw7.

I myself is looking at Asus zenbook...but not sure if 4 GB RAM is good enough for 24MP camera. (Raw files on lightroom)
