Hi, I would like to ask where can I sell off some of my camera gears such as lens. I know that I am able to post it for sale in the BnS section of the forum here. Just want to ask if there are any brick and mortar shops that I can go to?

Cash converters.

but expect them to buy from u DIRT CHEAP...so best is sell ur stuff here.take a nice pic and show..

peninsular has quite a few buy/sell 2nd hand shop. can try your luck. but the prices they offer can be quite unreasonable (they are doing a business afterall). some shops wouldnt buy your item if they have a few in stock.

as stated, BnS section is still your best bet.

Have you tried Peninsular Plaza, Peninsula Shopping Centre & The Adelphi? There are a few 2nd shops there

Same advice as RhysCheng... but don't expect a good price.

not worth it, unless of course u need the money asap.

if you go thru shops, they need to make some profits, so don't expect too much, unless you just want to get rid of your gears.

but when you sell at Personal Classifieds here, you didn't go thru middle man, you will able to get better price from buyer directly, and you can sell it off very fast if you will to lower your price.

buy sell section has prices which are higher. even got prices for 2 year old units flogged at grey set price.

OK. Thanks for all the advice and replies. I guess I will post it up for sale in the bns. Was just hoping to find a place to sell off all the gear at one shot at a reasonable price. :)

you can sell it off fast at bns too, and of cos at a reasonable price, suggest you should do abit of homework b4 posting for sale. (eg take a look at grey market price)

be honest, be precise on your description, and also post some photos, you will able to sell your item very fast.

as for reasonable price, that is very subjective, but if you done your research, you should able to know at what price people will be more interested to buy your item.

Theoretically on BnS it's a direct seller to buyer market so prices should be better for both parties as the middleman is eliminated. But noone really knows what shops are buying in or selling. I have seen some cases of shops selling lower than BnS, and i bought from them instead of bnS. Likewise I sold a camera body to a shop at 100 more than the highest offer I got from BnS. So i will really suggest u to make a trip down peninsula plaza shops to get some quotes before u decide.

I agree with this. I got a few good deals from there before.

BnS though eliminates the middleman, but there's quite a bunch of cheapskates that will lowball you like dunno what, and make your blood boil. :bsmilie:

Haha I know what you guys mean by blood boiling. I have my fair share. haha.

I probably will make a trip down this couple of days to see if the quotes that I getting will make me consider selling to the shops.

Thanks again!!

There's also lots of jokers that stated FIRM FIRM FIRM ridiculous selling price that makes my whole blood cells laughing.

There's a little bit of difference though. Those high sellers one can choose not to contact at all if one don't like the price. If one contacts the seller, it means one is agreeable to that price or plus minus abit.

But if one contacts the seller and lowballs ridiculously, then that's a little rude IMO.
