More and more people are sharing their lives in facebook. I see my frienfs posting their partying photos, family outings photos, kids photos, CNY gathering photos, etc. Are we revealing too much of ourselves to the unknown? What are the risks associated with posting photos of our love ones on fb or any social media?

Maybe I hv been living in the cave. If I have to wear a skirt, I will mosaic my face. I will stay anonymous. Remember the French fortune teller with a team of hackers behind the scene.
I limit who sees or not see what is shown in my FB. I pick very very carefully who to include and not. I am not into trying have as many people be seen as my friends when it is not. Easy to keep adding but really... how many do you really "call" friend in your FB.
Also I never mix work with private life. I think it is a lot less problematic that way. So no working people gets included in my personal FB. Also I would rather show my private life photos then my better shot photos to ensure they are not unauthorised use of them.

Be careful of how you censor your face. IIRC, there was a wanted suspect who swirl, twirl and whirl his face around with Photoshop and posted the photo on his facebook account. FBI "undo" his edit and he's now incarcerated in a federal or state prison. :bsmilie:
Also there are mathematical algorithms used in digital forensic science which will attempt to add missing bits of data and information intelligently into a pixelated mosaic thus producing several possible facial composites that can be used to identify somebody of interest, I believe some will busted in such way as well. Of course, you'll have nothing to worry about if you are a law-abiding citizen. :bsmilie:
