What makes you think CS is a business that organizes photoshoots or gets paid to do shoots, etc? You seem to have the totally wrong idea of what CS is.
Not possible due to the Air Navigation Act (Chapter 6), Official Secrets Act (Chapter 213) and Protected Areas / Protected Places Act (Chapter 256). Before the Van Wagner Airship Group (formerly known as the Lightship Group (TLG)) No. 18 A-60+ American Blimp in StarHub livery (N618LG) and the tethered DHL helium balloon at Bugis can even begin public operations, they have to go through hoops of bureaucratic red tapes from the CAAS and MINDEF. Even so, the former is limited strictly only to Heli-Route Bravo / Charlie with filming and photography disallowed. To complicate matters the airspace 1 nautical mile around the Istana is designated as a restricted area (WSR38) from ground level up towards 10,000 feet (as per altimeter setting) and flight operations with the boundaries of 01°18'17"N 103°52'05"E, 01°16'23"N 103°50'45"E and 01°18'18"N 103°49'54"E is forbidden for single-engine helicopters.

In conjunction with the Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP), they operate similarly to the United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) but of course, their projects will most probably be classified Secret requiring G50 clearance for Category 1 access though one still can purchase 1:50,000 topographic map at S$11.00 apiece from their office at Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB).

Just curious... why film backs?
I understand MF and all, but if they're going to scan and stitch anyway might as well use digital. At most take more images using manual mode (to control for exposure) & restrict to one model of the most popular camera on the market (control for colour cast). Surely batch to batch manufacturing variation will be greater for film even if you buy the same brand etc. :dunno:
Actually this is probably one of the most expensive image to make and yet the results are totally underwhelming. Much of the image suffers from so much distortion and loss of sharpness probably from the conversion process.
that was in 2004, where as many people still have film cameras compare to owning a DSLR,
using the same brand/type of film, the deviation won't be so much compare to the colors, contrast, resolution from different sensors/custom setting of DSLR.
FYI, can ask film manufacture to supply some batch of film, maybe can even ask for sponsorship.
anyway, that was a very ambitious project, sad to see unable to take off.

Hmm... Is it possible to attach a camera with a UWA lens to a remote control helicopter or airplane, then set it up, and take photo via wireless remote? Of course it wouldn't be as massive as what was shown, maybe just a small neighbourhood?
Thinking of that... I need to save up enough to get a decent remote control helicopter that could carry my 7D.
