Hi all,

What do you use for supporting a laptop when shooting tethered? A fold-up table or something else?

On location is always something else because it's a waste of time moving a table around. Chair or lighting bag is most common.

Or you could do this, Holiday 2012: Tethered Shooting | BH inDepth

quite expensive though unless you can get one made locally. But still I wouldn't trust people not tripping over tripod legs. The only stand I trust is a C-stand but who wants to leg that around just for the laptop?

A writing desk. Tethered is usually in a studio so....

Thanks. Funny, I use the Manfrotto 131DD, but with an Elinchrom EL-Notebook support table.

I see, you find it stable?

I do, but recommend a sturdy tripod. I also added a velcro strap to secure the laptop.

ya.. that's the problem... I guess it depends on what kind of setup you have, how many assistants and what's SOP for you. Personally have thought of getting a table like yours but stop at the fact it's another heavy thing to carry on location, and the trouble in moving it about per angle/shot outweights its usefulness. It might be nice for clients so they don't have to bend up and down but for us we're used to it.

if u have the funds and using a macbook, u can check out the iWorkCase.com - iWorkCase your on location workstation
or
