Thank You All.

visit shops that sell model aeroplane and model helicopters, most will have quadcopter. never heard specifically for gopro. i think have to modify by yourself.

I intend to DIY one myself for my upcoming boat fishing trip. It's a longshot and steep lrearnig curve. From what I gather local RC shops do bring in these quadrotor.

Apart from the quadrotor itself, there are various mountings for cameras like gopro or Sony NEX. More of these are available on-line

I'm looking a DJI quarotors at the moment and fixed camera mount. On top of photography you'll need to know a lot about electronics, avionics and navigational knowledge.

Furthermore basic quadrotor can cost $400 - $1000. If you include motorized mount and advanced navigational aid like FPV to allow you to see where you fly instantly than the cost will spiral up.

Yes, it's still a niche market in photography here. But I guess some has done it before.

Currently flying a Xaircraft 650 quadcopter.

Bought it online. You need to get the remote controller and battery separately. Chargers also separate.

Very beautiful quadcopter. Thank You.

I am also thinking to build myself. Because I got option. If I want to update individuals parts later. But no expensive in that area. For FPV, thinking to use my gopro hero3 wifi as FPV device. My budget is 400 only.

Basic Quadcopter Tutorial - Chapter 1 - YouTube If I build myself one, I can follow this youtube video also. But their flight Controller is expensive.

If I build myself one, I will try to put it on CS.

Just note that for these kind of RC choppers, you really do get what you pay for. For 400, you are not likely to get one stable enough for video shooting. And please get some flight time in before you actually mount a camera. Good Luck.

daredevil 123 hit the right note. Even after about 8 weeks of flying i have not mount my camera onto the quadcopter.

During the flight test, i burnt 2 motors and broke some clips on the copter. Ordered replcacement parts for it. That costs me a couple of hundreds. My copter drifts and cant hover properly though my friend's exact model dont have the drift. Not sure why and still trying to rectify it. You need to get a 6-8 channel controller if you want to mount a GPS or flight compass etc. Not cheap.

One of the super senior pros here is using a setup that is gyro stabilized with a failsafe that will auto land the chopper should it lose any signal or encounter any problems. It is also GPS enabled so that it can be programmed to land in a certain spot. ANd it is strong enough to hold a D800 with professional lens, with remote control for camera angle and shutter release. I heard he has spent tens of thousands on this already.

So I really urge TS to give it a second thought about the budget... Because when flying, I can tell you, things often go wrong. And a crash landing ain't pretty.

My other hobby is flying R/C helicopters, with some experience in flying quadcopters. It is not an easy task to bring it up to the air, let alone do aerial photography/videography with it. Pros usually go for a setup with at least 6 to 8 propellers to provide sufficient lift for the payload.

Hi all,

I am currently building my quadcopter. But my quadcopter never lift off. I tried to find troubleshooting. Still cannot.

I upload a video about my quadcopter on youtube.

This is a really cool clip but not sure is there legal issue for such shoot.

Try rotor sg. Located at chinatown. For forum go to daddyhobby is a local rc. But based on your budget quite hard and you really need a lot of practice before flying it FYI.

this is so neat!

RSAF UAV Sqn out of biz already, too :D
