As per the thread title, does anyone know of any bag that can hold 1DX + 500mm F4 & 1DX + 70-200 f2.8 together for trekking purposes?

Some considerations:
- I would be doing some trekking and some climbing for around 5-10km, with these gears which totals abt 10kg. So the bag hopefully is as light as possible.
- Camera padding is secondary - main objective is still lightweight (hopefully <1kg) first, then padding second.
- Better still if the material is waterproof/has rain cover - as the trekking area would be snowing. (yea, imagine the 4,5 layers of clothings which i will be wearing top and bottoms, lightweight is the #1 priority.)
- There's no need for the bag to hold tripod/monopod. I would be using the monopod in my hands as walking stick.
- I m not looking for rolling cases, as that wont allow me to climb up rocky hills.
- Pelican cases is definitely out of the question - too heavy and cumbersome for me to climb.
- The bag must be long enough to hold 1DX + 500mm attached, as I wont be changing lens in snow.
- The lowepro lens case for 500mm/600mm is out of the question - as it is too bulky and heavy and it's unnecessarily longer than the lens + attached 1DX. Besides, I also have problem putting another 1DX + attached 70-200 f2.8 in it.
- Those giant lowepro computrekker is great but it has problem fitting the 1Dx + 500mm attached. and worst of all, it is super heavy.

Thanks in advance if u have any great carrying bag idea :)

Try Gura gear at TK.

Think Tank Streetwalker... the weight distributed evenly and the back padding is excellent. make it lighter.

Have seen backpackers with some long and large backpacks. You can try using those and pad your gear inside to prevent them knocking each other. You shooting snow leopards?

Thanks bro, did a check on this brand, and i think the kiboko 30L fits the bill rather nicely, will check it out!

lowepro flipside 500?

Thanks tsaieh, ricohflex, gundamseed84 for the ideas, I will check it out this weekend at TK Foto..

this is my first time hearing of the kiboko bags..

for the lowepro flipside 500, the online images and videos which I see so far seems like it is only able to fit the dslr + 500 f/4.5 instead of f/4. The f/4 which I would be using is much larger in size than the f/4.5. besides, when the dslr + 500 f/4.5 is inside the bag, it seems to be impossible to fit another 70-200f2.8 with attached dslr.. but I must admit, the weight for the flipside 500 at abt 2kg is almost same as the kiboko 30L at 1.8kg, it's quite an ok weight, compared to lens trekker 600 (2.8kg) and pro trekker 600 (3.8kg)

haha..feels the same too

Yah man...at least Think Tank comes with lifetime warranty at 400++ (closest equivalent to the Kikobu 30L - Airport Accelerator). With such carrying loads the straps will give way sooner or later.

i am using streetwalker hd for 800 & 100-400 + TC + a cam + accessories for some outing. but seriously dont think the bag will gives way before i did, haha...:bsmilie:

Maybe it was the way I carried it? I already tore through the shoulder straps of the Crumpler Karachi Outpost and the Think Tank Airport Addicted V2.0; neither bag lasted more than a year.

you overload your bag by a lot? what's your load?

Eh...probably on the Crumpler but definitely not on the Think Tank. 300/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 both mounted with body+grip.

may you can consider writing to thinktank for clarification. i agreed thinktank should handle this load with ease.

Ya maybe you can write to Thinktank, or post at their facebook for the replacement. I loaded a total weight of 11 + kg on the Hard drive for oversea trips. No heavy guns like yours, few small lens, laptop, chargers, headphone, books, snacks, underwear etc and it weight 11 kg on the airport's scale.
