Just curious, when you are outside either alone or with your gf/wife, and wanting to take photo of yourself/yourselves, do you:
1. Set up a tripod / gorillapod
2. Simply place camera on table / floor
3. Reverse & point the camera at yourself at arm length
4. Always look for a stranger to take for you

Flip the LCD forward to face us. Or just option 4

I've seen people also using those funny looking things.. Something like a monopod, which basically allows you to "extend" your arm so that the self-portrait won't be that tight.

option 2, set timer and run like hell

Not applicable to me. Why would I take photo of myself? I have already seen my face every time when I brush my teeth, comb my hair, shave, etc. No need photo to remind me how I look. ;p

make sure you ask a senior citizen or someone whom you think will run slower than you if you ask stranger to take picture for you (option 4). Make sure they don't run away with your camera. It happened to my friend, chase after the guy but end up vomited half way through the chasing.

my gf complains that we have too few photos together. I guess this happens to many of us who like to take photos but not in the photos :)

For me when i flip my screen and shoot, the face always look distorted with pincushion effect.

Ask strangers I am too shy.

I might just buy a small tripod to setup my G3 (m4/3).

Same here. Both of us are photographers but always not in photos.

Couple shots? I can count by my fingers.

Our photos on electronic photo frame at home always individual shots only.

Are your arms that short? People have taken self portraits for ages with any camera. Just turn it about 180° and press the shutter. That's how I do it for the last 15 years.

Some people find it difficult when using the 70-200mm f2.8 :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I've found it harder with the 400L.

thats weird, i easily do self portrait with my 500L. just extend out ur hands, turn the camera and lens to face u and then shoot --> not tough rite?

You'll be surprised how many do try.. :bsmilie:

I'm not a bodybuilder. In fact I'm rather skinny. 400L is the limit.
