Is my Dry Cabinet Spoilt

I have two units of the Aipo AP48EX. All the while ok until recently one of the unit starts to show higher than usual humidity levels. I set mine at 40%. While one unit is constant, the other is kept hovering between 47 to 48%. It also shows the temp at 29deg instead of 26deg the other unit showing (which is accurate aircon room temp).

Is it spoilt or just the hydrostat spoilt?

These Aipo units warranty is how long?

I bought in 2010 Dec if I remember correctly, heard that the Ms Mok had disappeared.

Is this serviceable or have to buy new one already?

There are few possibilities to your scenario.

1) hygrometer faulty
2) drying unit faulty
3) cabinet is not properly sealed (leaking)

There is also a possibility that nothing is wrong at all. When the aircon is on, the RH readings tend to elevate due to the lowered temperature. Watch the RH readings without the aircon. When you off the aircon, the temperature will go up and the RH readings will likely go down.

Then the water level would be too high or too low
From the symptoms I would guess that the measuring / display unit is inaccurate. Are there any batteries to change? The temperature is purely for display reason, because Relative Humidity needs the temperature as reference. It's not managed at all. Therefore, fluctuating readings point to an issue of the measuring unit.
Warranty is stated on the card, I remember reading here in CS that Aipo cabinets have 5 years of warranty as well. Since dry cabinets are not rocket science I wouldn't be surprised if Digi components can be used for repair

If you get your dry cabinet from the previous agent and the warranty period is not over yet, I don't think Master D’Imaging Pte. Ltd. can honer the warranty since they are not related to the previous company.
but they can repair the cabinet at a cost if it is still repairable.
was told they can repair the cabinet as soon as they received the pairs from the manufactures.

It seems like the 'bad' cabinet is constantly 3 degrees celsius higher and 6 degrees humidity higher than the 'good' cabinet.

Again: what makes you think that the readings are correct?

I not sure if its correct or not. I think the Aipo brand no batteries to change. It is powered together with the unit digitally.

Bro, don't jump to conclusion. Use an alternative hygrometer just to be sure.

I have 2 x DG cabs and I have to set both built-in hygrometers to 39%RH to obtain 50%RH (measured from calibrated hygrometers).

I have spoke to the new distributor April this year, this company is not affiliated Ms MOk' company, they will only honour the warranty which sold by them.
as a goodwill, they will repair cabinets sold by Ms MOk' company at a cost.

As per catchlight's post, yes, they are helping those who bought from Ms Mok out of goodwill.
My dry-cab broke down recently, I brought it down and they are willing to help me repair it.
Try giving Master D'Imaging a call and talk to them, I believe they are more than willing to help you.

I'm also facing a similar issue as TS. I also got my Aipo 48ex around early 2011. My adaptor first went out on me about a month back, contacted the new distributor and did an exchange.

My dry cab now refuses to go below 45% even though I set it to 40%, even after several days. I'm wondering if TS has had an answer to this problem.

Hi NoS77, I dont have the time to deal with that yet. From my observation it is stable and constantly about 3-5 degrees higher in humidity than my other unit just beside, and the temp is also constantly 2-3 degrees higher. So I guess it is ok just that its thermometer is cronky affecting the humidity reading.

Hi sjackel. Thank you for the reply. So you just let the dry cabinet run 'continuously'? As in the 'Run' light is always lit?

Always leave the dry cabinet to on and let it run 24 hours.

If there is a link between both meters.. then a higher temperature would result in a lower RH reading if the absolute amount of water in air is the same. I guess both meters are just off by the same percentage..

Don't jump to the conclusion yet. Sometimes it could be your RH meter that is faulty. Best to use another to verify first.

I've moved my gears to another functional dry cabinet. From what the distributor mentioned, no LED light means there's a possibility of power failure. Gotta send it down to get it fixed.

Digi? Take a screwdriver, unmount the dehumidifier unit and bring it to service center together with warranty card. If your type is with external power supply (like laptops have) then bring everything. No need to bring the entire cabinet.
