Is it a good pair with D7000 as a walk around lens?

Ya I can said that.. For option lah, I can't saying that 35mm DX not good.
Just depend your budget lah :)

if u have plans to go FX, i suggest 28mm f/1.8g N
else, 35mm f/1.8g dx is good on d7k.
of course it had also been proven the 35mm dx can also produce good IQ on DX.(do a search on the forum)

couldn't agree more. and i had a lot of fun with the 28mm 1.8 shooting kids when you can get close to them and shoot pictures of them with the puzzled look on their faces as they look at the camera infront of them.

Just sharing my experience for usage on my trip right now in HK has cover 3 days and I'll only needed the 28mm f/1.8G to be accompany my D600 at all.

I felts it lens really good enough for closeups or low light and lightweight :)

One more I am never regret for shooting fews thousand shots in the lens.

Thanks Nikon...

Once I am and hope to sharing some my HK pics. Ke ke

hope nikon can add more same great like 28mm f/1.8G lens too.

Nice series of photos to showcase the 28mm. Thanks for sharing :)

Superb lens! Built quality wasn't that great but that made up for the super light weight. Have no complaints on the image quality. Sharp and contrasty. Love it!
