1. In what area is critique to be sought?
Any form of critique and comment is welcome.

2. What one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
To improve my landscape photography skill by getting critique and comment from the expert.

3. Under what circumstance is the picture taken?(physical conditions/emotions)?
This picture was taken in the morning misty condition , Nikon 16-35mm f4 lens , iso100 31mm f22 5sec.Process in HDR.

4. What the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture?
I find the colour is dull even after process in hdr, main element is right at centre and take 1/10 of the whole picture, very against the rule of a good picture, so is it the composition/hdr is ok to the expert eye.
Thanks everyone who drop by in advance.

would like to see stronger colours in the shot, perhaps also with a longer exposure. some foreground elements would also help to add depth to the scene.

Once again you have create a different to the picture,in fact i am looking forward to what u can create, how i wish there any foreground elements , i am surprise why not much clubsnap member come to this place and take picture , there is sunrise in the morning.

Haven't been there in awhile..not very accessible for me....anyway nice shot.. colors just need abit more vividness..make it abit warmer since its a sunrise...framing is fine..could maybe include abit of foreground..like where ur standing on.just abit..very important to have a foreground mid ground n background do there's some sort of depth

Your recommendation , will try it next visit. Thank for dropping by and giving your idea.

Nice reflection of the sky, good use the long exposure.

Talk about the color, if you had taken this photo during haze session nothing much you can do about it. The haze particles in the air not only block the blue sky also the possible usual sunset/sunrise color.

For photo composition, some foreground objects will help, try to avoid 50/50 of sky/water ratio and consider Rule of the Third.

yes is not the best day to take picture, is quite hazy , will go back another day , cause there is the reflection of the sky on the water so that why i kept 50/50 ratio, for foreground i should use the platform , will try it next time when i visit there. Thank for your advice and drop by.

Hi andysim65, you had been posting quite a number of posting at Critique Corner Section maybe you might want to consider start your own thread in the Land/City-scapes and Travel or any sections. This will be a small step forward to your photographic journey. Happy shooting. :)

The photo you saw there were taken during non-haze session, when the haze session is over then GND and ND filter will help.

you are spot on , most of my picture are hazy , i have to boost up the clarity to get a more clear picture.

This shot was taken very long ago. I believe I used a 2 stop soft GND for this shot. There is no need for a ND filter. The water is very still that day on a windless morning, and in a reservoir setting, the water is very still. The timing is also pre-dawn, so with a small aperture (F16 I believe) I was still able to get a shot off with exposure of 3 seconds. That is enough to get a perfect reflection.

It so nice to see such a beautiful picture of this place. thank for showing me , would hope to see more in the future.

Thank you. Here is one more shot a year later.

Actually, looking at TS's shot, I believe more details can be shown if the picture is shot and processed properly. There are other ways to shoot landscape when it is hazy.. here is one I shot at another reservoir and I used a 10 stop ND filter.

You do not need 10 stop filter for twilight shots. The light is low enough for you to use a 2-5 stops. Most of my sunrise sunset stuff I shot with max 3 stop ND, sometimes no ND.

Thank you for the advise for the haze session sunset shooting, anyway I will just wait for the haze session to pass. :)

Both of your shot is beautifully taken and process, compare to mine is dull and boring, just different skill level , even with haze or no haze, the standard is different , but i am lucky enough to have so many senior giving me great advice showing me their works , i sincerely thanks everyone who comments of this thread.

TS if you are interested in sunset photographic, I had one thread about the sunset photographic with some documentation about the camera setting and use of CPL, GND, Sunset GND, and ND filters.
