Hi all,

I'm interested to visit Mount Bromo. How do I go there from flight? What is the beast season to go there? I actually intended to stay there for 4D3N. Wonder would that be enough...

nearest international airport should be Surabaya.
Then usually people follow tour - 2D 1 N. From Surabaya to Bromo about 3 hours drive if not wrong.
Check around if it is still very active - as far as i know, it was closed for a period after Oct 2010, not sure now clear already or not

Late reply :) (wonder if TS has gone to Mt Bromo already)

Mt Bromo is open to visitors.
Nearest Int'l Airport is Surabaya. From there about 100km and 5 hours (yes it's THAT slow ;) ) to accommodation around the giant caldera within which Mt Bromo sits.
Next morning early set-off to either viewing spot (higher elevation) or to the crater of Mt Bromo itself for sunrise, by 4WD.

It seems to be EXTREMELY popular with visitors both local and foreign.

Thanks! I haven't go there yet.. :p Anyway any recommendation for solo traveller? I'm going there solely for photographic purposes. My concern is the transport.

is there a place in bromo to enjoy sunset? If i need to see sunset, I had to stay 2 nights at bromo. Is it worth it?

First of all just curious why you need to see sunset? :p
The place commonly people stay is call ceromo lawang (if spell correctly). A nice cooling place to stay, relax. So to answer, yes worth it.
You can hire your own driver to allow you to have flexible timing.

Well worth a visit. I recommend staying at Java Banana. The guide we had was Tris and here is a link to pictures I took while there a few years ago. Have fun! South East Asia Photo Gallery by robin at pbase.com
