inconsistent color result from FujiFilm store from my Pentax camera

I have been printing 4R photos at FujiFilm store in Harry Normal for a long time, and other fujii outline,

last time I went to FujiFilm store at funan, I got strong yellow tine, over staturation, and over exposure prints from them,

(while my wife's sony compact camera has no issue on that)

I start wondering,

1. it may be my camera setting issue,
(But I double check on my monitor and my wife's computer and make sure they are ok before I went there.)

then, I went to Suntec city fujifilm outline in Harry Normal, it gets slight better, but one thing for sure,

2 Fujifilm outline in harry normal shops produces 2 different print results.

So, anyone has same issue in printing, or is it associated with printer color profile;

I went back to Funan fujifilm outline to tell them the problem, they say sorry, and offer re-print (which what if re-print has same issue)

seems the worker there has no idea on printing techniques, as they just print the button, and adjust on their computer to make better if thing went wrong.

3. afterall, the prints are not exact or near perfect as on my laptop screen.

Harvey Norman NOT Harry Normal.

Could be the problem with their printing settings.

1) calibrate yr screen monitor 1st
2) yr working file could be RGB but printing usually only accept CMYK . Try convert yr file to CMYK so u roughly know what the print result is .

TS is making prints from digilabs.
Are you sure they accept only CMYK instead of RGB?

I'm not sure . But that's what I can think of

CMYK is only use for off set printing, aka press printing.
Digilabs only accept sRGB files either jpg or tiff.

Don't send files in adobeRGB color space. And don't send camera RAW files, they won't able to print it with their machine.

If anyone think sending them Camera RAW files will get better results. Which is wrong. They will just use any free software to convert RAW files into jpg, and do adjustment from jpg files with the machine software.

1. Is your monitor calibrated? If not, u r not seeing what you should be seeing.
2. As Ben said, only send sRGB color space for photo printing

If the above are control, the issue is at the printer end.

Have they calibrate their machine properly? Is the operator know what they are doing?

Go to those lab refer by the sticky will improve your chance of getting the right output.

If u want good and consistent output, work with 1 printer, one lab for long term.

I know there are many good labs, but I bought the membership of HAppy Photo from Harvey norman fuji one,

4R only 18 cents, any shop can beat that price?

yeah, no shop can beat their price, and no shops can "beat" their quality too. right?

today Ah Hui print your photos like this, next time Ah Lian print your photos like that, so all your photos are very colorful, machim like Kodak Eastman Technic Colors from the 1950's, how 'bout that?


if you don't want to waste money, find a good lab, let them know your taste, and stick with them for life. like what Hart the Master Photographer says.

I spend a few thousands on printing photos, canvas prints, coffee table albums each year, quality is my primary concern, it is more costly of my time and money if I reject any products due to poor quality.

if labs give me such results, I won't waste my time on them any more.

Harvey Norman lab at Bukit Panjang Plaza has done really well with my 4R prints from several of my cameras. Also, they are open till late, compared to other print labs which close early and don't open on Sundays. I can see why the quality could vary from outlet to outlet, so you could try out other Harvey Norman labs till you find one that works for you since you have a sunk cost already. If you can't find then just give up on HN and go for the recommended labs.
