What accident has happened to your camera?

For me:

1. Camera dropped to the floor from sofa and lens broke in half. Those manual cameras were built like cannon last time.
2. Camera dropped to the ground beside a lake very near water edge.
3. Camera slipped and banged into tripods and ruined the internal working of a macro lens. I think I didn't lock the tripods head well.
4. Camera fell from tripods to the floor and ruined the manual/auto switch on the lens. It is working after repair.
5. This afternoon after I walked out from my home studio I heard some noise I found tripods and camera on the floor. The cable release plug was broken in half with half inside the camera. Everything else seems to be working well. I think I might not have locked the tripods legs well.

sigh... my case, when shooting normal streets, with aunties around, the camera works, then nice chio bu came along, cannot focus, when chio bu gone, it starts to click......

i changed the brand totally after that.

I don't recall anything really bad happening to the camera... Worst that has happened to me is losing the VF cap, losing a lens cap that just launched itself into a river. :bsmilie:

My lens cap dropped into the Vietnam lake. :bsmilie: lucky I managed to retrieve it using a senior's monopod. :bsmilie:

I always shoot with small aperture and long exposure leh.

My incident involving tripod is when i forgot to clamp my polaroid properly and it drop and the SLR mirror inside shatter. (Unrepairable)

When I just got my D90, my boss lent me a 200mm lens just for try out.

Mount the cam on Nikon free tripod for night shot with my kit lens at fullerton drive above SG river.
Hands itchy, change my kit lens with my boss' lens. The whole thing tilted over the rail guard, and almost drop into SG river. Lucky the cam strap was still around my neck.

That was the day I retire the Nikon free tripod.

My closest call was my fully charged battery ran out of juice on my trip.....not sure why it self discharge so I am holding a brick for the rest of the day
