Hi Bro and sister,

Need help on wide angle lens in taking grp photo. I'm using the Nikon 14-24mm, f2.8 lens (which is a fish eye lens) to a do a wide group photo taking but it comes out distorted, especially those people sitting at the side front row, the show looks like being stretch. I have tried to use photoshop lens correction but theimage dun looks good.

Anyone can please help me and guide me. Thanks alot.

The Nikkor 14-24mm is a rectilinear lens, not fisheyes.

The distortions you get is inherent in wide angle lenses, regardless of which one you get. These perspective distortions cannot be corrected but can be minimised with careful framing. Just don't frame your subjects too close to the edges of the photos.

help you in what way?
photo already taken, noting much to save already.

checked your post history, every year asking how to take group photos, and yet still can be like that................... don't know what to say already.........

Yeah, even asked us to do her homework for her, then still reply like this:

Both of you talked so much, I think both of u also dun know how to answer. Dun act like smart

Since when 14-24 is fisheye? Got new version ah?

i'm wondering if after 2 years of asking questions... why is TS still so clueless about photography?

has TS learned nothing? or even to try to find the answer online?

Then TS can't say that the people of CS are not helpfuk

Thats why people usually don't recommend UWA for group photo..
Fish eye glass? no 14-24 is not a fish eye..

TS can post photo at Portraits and Poses, Critique Corner and etc which we can help from there. :)

looks like TS is here to troll. posting a new topic, then disappearing

Probably a troll. That was my conclusion too.

Although I am curious... Troll or not, what's the point of posting questions like this year after year and then disappearing.

2 things I found pretty jaw-dropping.

First thing is you think 14-24mm is a fish-eye lens, second thing is you actually use a "fish-eye" lens for a group photo when you mind/bother about the distortion.

If you intend to use photography to make a living, you have a tough road ahead and a long, long way to go.

Hey guys,
What strikes me as strange is that this person is 38 this year but types like a sec school kid.
When you do try to answer his questions, he disappears if he doesn't like what he hears and retorts sarcastically when angered.

Not the way he types. The phrasing is passable and still understandable.

It's the attitude.

But what can i say, men never grow up and women shouldn't be choosy over which man to marry since most probably, they will never mature and grow up :bsmilie:
